I just watched V for Vendetta
 

What a great movie, Natalie Portman is great!

i heard so many negatives about this movie...ill try to get DVD in the next few weeks...

I was thinking about getting the DVD. I've heard a lot of people say it was horrible and a few say they loved it.

I remeber when the Matrix first came out, all the critics were blasting it... then people started liking it, then it became a classic.

V for Vendetta will be the same as soon as people get the point of the movie

I went to see it with like ...15 people. Every1 beside me and a friend of mine hated it ... we enjoyed it till the last min.

most of the people who didn't like the movie fall into one of two groups (imo):

a) they didn't like the message the movie delivered. (i won't spoil)

-or-

b) they couldn't comprehend the film.

Pro-terrorist movies don't appeal to me. Also, the Guy Fawkes impression is weak and everyone knows that the French are cowards! Didn't a small squad of 12 Germans take over all of France during WWII?

That movie was fantastic. I don't know how anyone could say anything bad about it.

If you saw it as a pro-terrorism movie, then you didn't look past the obvious. The real story is just beyond that... if you think.

A few years from now this will be looked at as a classic a movie that captured our times in a very strange way.

I rented it a few days ago. It was decent.
It *WAS* a pro-terrorism movie in a way.. but since the 'terrorist' was one of the 'good guys', it was more of a freedom-fighter-movie.

..it's all in the perspective.

Great movie!!! Totally anti New World Order! The reason it got mixed reviews and a lot of negative ones is because the movie exposes the controlled corporate media and mirrors our society. The media bashed it for this very reason...also people in dark on real issues are just scared of it.

Watching it right now for the 3rd time in 2 days lol

This is indeed a VERY powerfull movie, dialog is fan-fucking-tastic, the cinamatography<sic> is amazing, and the entire "gov" costumes are great!

The ONLY thing I was a bit pissed about is that their does not seem to be any commentaries on the DVD (Or is there another version out there?) All I have on mine is "The making of V" which IS a good watch but I really want more extras with this one!

By the way this IS a pro-terror movie, (it's even called that in the "Making of" bonus feature, V is an Anti Hero, like Snake from escape from new york, but the fact remains that V is a political terrorist, but because of his 'mission' the audience is drawn to him and look at him as a 'hero role' thus making the film a "Pro Terrorist" film, BUT it does not mean that if you liked the movie, plot, char that you yourself are pro terrorist.

All in all deff a great movie, 4 out of 5 stars from me for sure!

I watched it in the States and it felt odd because pretty much most people in the audience didn't know who Guy Fawkes was or why he is a big deal to the British.

I thought her accent was horrible and 'the moral' was a bit too crammed down the throat.

negatives? it was a fucking awesome movie

it explains how the us government is trying to control the population with fear!

You should read the comic too, it was originally a comic and they did a fine job of bringing it to the big screen, and timing wise, I don't think they could have chosen a better one considering how things are in the world today, a real eye-opener :2 cents:

I watched the movie in the theatre, and have rented the DVD as well, it was THAT good a movie :thumbsup

Though I'm a big as fan as bald jewish pussy as much as the next guy, I just couldn't get into the movie. It was kinda outlandish, even in a 1982 sense, though it wasn't a bad at all; it came together pretty fluidly. Still, I would rather spent my rent on Inside Man rather than V.

not the best movie I've seen.. but still enjoyable

Going to check it out tonight....These movies are always decent if you go in knowing what to expect!
