Well, my friend and I were having a conversation about this last night but I guess it ain't gonna happen on here...

It's both true AND false.

You'll never see the #1 ranked female tennis star beat the #1 ranked male. In fact the top ranked female would barely crack the top 100 on the men's side. (arguable)
