Lensman, Can we get a re-vote on the design contest.
 

Noone can seem to agree exactly, but there is *much* speculation and doubt as to the fairness of this contest.

Since this is your board I'd like to request from you a re-vote.

Now you can call me altruistic, but please feel free to remove my entry. I say this to avoid doubt on my intentions from naysayers.

But, as many GFY members realize this contest was not fair to the participants. And the results postedhere are skewed.

So for the sake of all the effort and attention that went into this on the part of all the designers, $ and prizes on the part of the sponsors etc, please approve a revote with different [& fair] poll
software.

Also many of the people of GFY would be interested to see the original judging chat log posted publicly. [available from jfpdude]

It was 100% fair. The best designs won, did they not? I was a judge and had absolutely no clue who did which design. I chose which designs were the best. How can that be unfair?

Do tell how a vote at THIS point would be fair in the slightest.

People rank the sites they like, then the designers see an accurate listing in the results.

The rankings that stand are skewed, that is not fair to the people who spent a lot of time and effort to see how they stacked up.

it won't be. alias, just cut your losses and wait for the next one. as i have said before, everybody got enough publicity out of this and to keep nagging would simply have a negative effect on your reputation. everybody wants justice but nobody likes a sore loser for a business associate. grow up. and this is as good advice as you'll get on this subject - you decide what to do ;)

I don't care about my own results but instead detest having participated in an UNFAIR CONTEST.

The best designs did in fact finish in the top 3. It's not like I built a shit ass tour and beat all these killer tours.

The only people complaining are the people who weren't going to win anyways and were fighting to be in the top 10 in a 28 tour contest.

I dont think Alias should be labeled a cheater since he stated he would do it before he did it, and it was to prove how easy it could be done.

I saw all the little rumors posted about using netscape and clearing cookies, and I watched the results afterwards. No doubt all the percentages dropped from 6-7+ almost to less than 5-% for all participants, including the top ranking sites.

I am not debating the results, as everyone is correct the hottest designs DID win.

Anyone who believes Alias was the only one who did what he did, is as gullable and as naive as a newbie kissing ass to be liked around here.

Again not debating the results, just the way everyone points at Alias as a cheater, smoke screen tactics.

Yes, it was. The voting was meant to get the GFY members involved. The judges were meant to decide winners. They did, and they did so fairly.

Again, because it was MY FUCKING CONTEST DUMBASS! They ASKED me to be there to observe the judging and witness that it was a fair vote. YOU did not need to be in that fucking room. END OF STORY! Get over it alias. It's really getting tired now.

Maybe we should vote on that though?
