There was some fucker here in Winnipeg years ago who would, from time to time, drive around the city tossing poisoned meat into the yards of dog owners. He killed dozens of pets over the course of several years. He'd do it one year, making the rounds for a few weeks, then nothing for a few years, then he'd be in the news as doing it again.

All you can do in cases like this is shake your head, think there are some sick fucks out there, and hope the police nail his ass to the wall at some point.

Btw, I beleive the sentence for pet-killing is nowhere near as harsh as it needs to be.

When the sheer number of animals being killed for human consumption, it?s hardly wondering why people?s feelings have disembogued from their body long ago for animal kind. Even hunters take this a step further; many animals that are killed by hunters are killed purely for sport, and not to be eaten. True, these may not be your cute and cuddly ?pets? but they would still have the same ?feelings? as fido or shitcat. The punishment *must* fit the crime, at least in most cases. We can?t punish people too harshly for killing an animal, no matter how cute and cuddly it may be.
