dont be so sure, who's to say they don't go after the sponsors that are US based paying the non-US webmasters and cut the funds off from even reaching non-US webmasters or at worst, the US sponsors refusing to send out payment to non compliant non-US webmasters just to save their own asses

And how are they going to determine if the non-us WMs are non-compliant??

What are you whining about?? You're supposed to have been compliant for a year now and you've been on this board long enough to have known this.

Previously I was not required to have physical custody of documents & merely listing the sponsor as custodian of physical documentation sufficed, now however, seems that it will be like pulling teeth to get any sponsor to release the documentation... However, that is not what this thread was about.. what this particular thread is whining about is the impossibility of maintaining records for an Iframe that rotates content, or a potd, etc...

fucking sucks that there are so many useful tools out there to promote sites, now it pisses me off that only my foreign based competitors will be able to utilize most of the tools, whereas all the us affiliates are stuck back in the fucking dark ages with mere fucking text links, unless affiliate programs give out the docs....

exactly, a non-US webmaster can add a 2257 page with his address without problems...because nobody is going to visit him to check the docs

NastyGodCash 07-28-2006 04:57 PM

i wouldnt like to live in usa now... the 2257 law is fucking crazy

crockett 07-28-2006 05:01 PM

How did you come to that conclusion? Since June of last year, 2257 has always pretty much said secondary producers were to keep the documents as well... And although there is/was some feelings that that part would be struck down, in order to minimize your risk, you should have planned for contingencies. i.e. Did you open up some text only sites alongside your thumb sites over the last year? Did you open up any non-nude sites? Did you switch your focus from sponsors that weren't going to supply docs to those that were? Did you start to buy some of your own content with the docs??

I don't really mean to be busting your chops here but it's been a year and I just listed a few things all US WMs could/should have been doing instead of crossing their fingers.

I have close to 10k image with docs...
I have both text & thumbs & webcams/iframes

but, what I am concerned with here is being able to continue to promote cams or other programs that offer rotated or dynamic content, & it is nearly impossible to keep a record of something that changes every 10 seconds... or every day..

Now, with the potd, that would be simple as it is only a single model, so not a problem...

My main bitching is that I wanted to continue using plugins & Iframes in sites, & I previously thought I did not have to have physical documentation on those... (see pussycash's cam iframes have their own 2257 link embedded right into it), so thought before.. anyway..

nikki99 07-28-2006 05:13 PM

I understand... but the reality is, most of those plug-ins are crap and you'll make more money if you build your own. And since you'll have control over what is displayed when, you can then document it. Yeah all those tools are great for not doing any work and getting something up fast.. but in the long run you want something better.

All valid & true points, but I like having the self updated content when I am trying to handle close to 100 sites
