bluetooth headset for skype - fucking FUCK
 

arghhhhhh

i spent like 7-10 hours today trynig to get a bluetooth headset (plantronics 590) working with skype :(

tried so many fucking things.. different software, two dongles, and still no luck. it worked once for 5 minutes and i havent been able to duplicate it again :@

anyone got any working bluetooth headset setup with skype? must be so nice to talk without being tied to the desk

Bluetooth has a range of like 30 feet, you are still tied to your desk...

says 100m on the box, but, my apartment is only like 30 feet in any one direction anyway, if that!

its just to 1) keep my desk clean of wires, 2) not have a shitty cable on my arm distracting me, 3) etc

skip skype... try icall http://www.icall.com

any device that shows up as a mic/headset can be used.

This is all you need ... I use it - and it is flawless!!

skype is ok for a quick call - its free so you gotta take the delays echos n stuff into consideration

I read that XP doesn't really support bluetooth headsets

Hit me up if you do not have it working. It is a bit of a pain in the ass, but i can tell you how to do it. I went through what you did as well.....all good for me now.
