you would be pretty much fucked

xclusive 07-27-2006 01:26 PM

damn that could be dangerous

WarChild 07-27-2006 01:26 PM

On a sportbike, never.

It's being offered on the Gold Wing though, which is basically just half a car.

ProducerCashDave 07-27-2006 01:27 PM

Lol thats the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

If you're gonna get in a accident, you're most likely gonna fall off the bike, rather staying on it

Have you ever been in a bike accident? I'm going to guess no.

If you lay a bike down, and slide along the ground, yes you may be able to seperate from the bike. If you smash in to something, you and the bike will both come to a stop from the impact at more or less the same time, unless you're say thrown through the back window of a car. You don't "fall off".

It may help in Frontal collisons only, but you also may just fly over the handle bars :2 cents:

having done exactly that, i don't see the point in an airbag on a bike.

I've been in about a dozen motorcycle racing crashes, and I gotta say that the airbag on the Gold Wing would be pretty useless. It would have to be a very specific type of crash that the airbag would help. I think it's more gimick than anything else.

reynold 07-27-2006 07:52 PM

I still want to know how it will possibly work...

UniversalPassLorence 07-27-2006 10:36 PM

I just don't see how it will work :Oh crap

CamsLord 07-27-2006 10:43 PM

tony286 07-27-2006 10:48 PM

air bags alone dont do shit its the whole system that works together.

lush_life 07-27-2006 10:52 PM

i could see it lessening the injurys to the knees, thighs and stomoch area... but in a frontal impact you better be ready to fly no matter what kind of saftey device you have

It will only work on the big old fart motorcyles like Goldwings. Would be worthless on most smaller bikes.

Michaelious 07-28-2006 12:16 AM

useless believe me

germ 07-28-2006 11:02 AM
