New Law about misleading hyperlinks and words

pornguy 07-27-2006 09:48 AM

Based on this. it seems that webmasters in adult are sexualpredators

America's children will be better protected from every parent's worst nightmare -- sexual predators -- thanks to passage of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006. I applaud both the House and Senate -- and in particular the leadership of Chairman Specter in the Senate and Chairman Sensenbrenner in the House -- for passing this comprehensive bill, which includes provisions proposed by the Department of Justice," said US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

What if you place Adults Only - TITLE NAME on the page if that would make you ok if something in the metas was related to the kids search in question, I mean if some kid is searching for "Anime" they may very well end up at an adult site.....

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-27-2006 09:53 AM

It is all bull shit!

pornguy 07-27-2006 09:54 AM

I dont think that they care about that. If the domain is like Barbibicycles.com they will say that it is misleading.

So no matter what the meta says, it will be held against you.

DesignWise 07-27-2006 12:24 PM

(c) For the purposes of this section, a domain name that includes a word or words to indicate the sexual content of the site, such as sex or porn, is not misleading.

:( didnt know bout that haha thing..

Yngwie 07-27-2006 12:25 PM

it would help if the fucking parents would watch over the children when they're on the net.. Oh but instead they use the internet as a fucking babysitter so they can do whatever the hell it is they are doing and when their kid sees anything sexual on the net they blame us.. Funny, we didn't buy them the goddamned computer and we sure as fuck did not get them internet access.... unsupervised on top of that. Ya, it may be easy to find porn online, but if the parents did their fucking job than their kids would not see all this porn.

BoyAlley 07-27-2006 12:25 PM

(c) For the purposes of this section, a domain name that includes a word or words to indicate the sexual content of the site, such as ?sex? or ?porn?, is not misleading.

So they're saying if your domain name isn't sexually explicit, it's misleading?

HairToStay 07-27-2006 12:31 PM

They passed a similiar law in 2003

Public Law No: 108-21; Section 2252B

Webby 07-27-2006 12:35 PM

They will end up legislating their heads up their asses.

The desperation is showing.

Uhm, isn't "obscenity" illegal in the US anyway?
