Tiger Direct - refurbished laptops??????
What exactly does refurbished mean?
Has anybody bought one? Is it better to go with a new one? |
Dont buy it unless you buy the extended warranty with it, last time i bought one after 13 month the motherboard went bad and it was gonna cost me almost 800 to fix
|
dell does that too
basically laptops with defects that are repaired, anything from a key that let loose till a motherboard that shortcircuited. Make sure you get a VERY good warranty |
Refurbished can also simply mean something that was returned within it's 30 day warranty but has no defects. But most refurbs are repaired devices.
|
As long as you're secured with a warranty, I think it's fine to get refurbished items like a laptop. However, it's still much better to get a new one. Here in my country, repair for (refurbished) laptop's battery and LCD can cost as much as the price of new desktop PC.

refurbs are ok but plan on shelling out bucks on a warranty
|
Why buy something old when you can get a new decent laptop for ~600?
You don't need ~3Ghz and 2 gigs of RAM if you're only going to use it to take care of your websites. :-) :2cents: |
