Great question Rick. We launched the site six months ago. We've been tweaking and perfecting it before we announced it to the general population. As you probably know, a review site needs a lot of reviews in it before it becomes a great destination. So we had to build up the reviews. The site kicks ass in that every review has 3-4 video clips for the surfers to watch and 5-7 galleries. This amount of free content is unheard of. Taking a que from the success of ConsumptionJunction.com, we've also set the site up so surfers can browse just the free clips or galleries. The idea was to give the surfers a reason to visit the site other than just soley to read reviews of paysites.

As for what you get free, ANYONE can get their site reviewed for free (to answer your question DamageX). But there's a wait of a couple weeks now that we're taking requests. So we've never done exit consoles. They're just annoying. We used to do pop-unders on entrance. But when Service Pack2 rolled out for XP, Internet Explorer finally had pop up blocking turned on by default. We saw an enormous drop in the number of impressions and clicks. That and frankly any window popping up is annoying and surfers close them by reflex.

So we developed flash-based ads that "float" over our pages. No new windows, so no problems with pop-up blockers. But finding a way to get around the pop-up blocker isn't enough. We wanted to go from annoying to entertaining. Make the ad an tasty treat to swallow instead of bad medicine. So we hired a couple of full time animators and flash designers to create these ads. We concentrate on making each one a mini-story. They're all entertaining. The designers hand draw and animate each one. They work 5-7 days on each one. Really if the EASIEST way to get what I'm talking about is to look at all the ones we've done for customers at http://www.cjtraffic.com/ad_floatingad.php

Well, we take a REALLY consulative approach to selling our traffic. The simple answer is to hit http://www.cjtraffic.com/contact.php and BE SURE to fill in the URL(s) to the site(s) you're looking to send traffic to. We'll take a look at your site, get a feel for it, look at what we've got available and your timeframe and budget and make a recommendation. If we don't have something that will fit, we'll tell you that. We're actually pretty picky about who we sell ads to. Doesn't do anyone any good to spend money on a campaign that bombs. They waste money and we get a bad reputation.

So let us know what you're trying to promote, how much you've got to spend for a test campaign, and when you're looking to move forward. We'll take care of the rest! We've got sales reps working night and day shift so you should get a response within an half an hour.

Well, mainly because we write an entire, researched, article about your offerings. We can get a hell of a lot more info into an article than we can in a banner or text ad. Also there's a level of "celebrity" endorsement that really helps out. Each of our sites has a "face-man" who does all the writing on the home page, answers all the fan emails, etc. When this person tells the fans to check something out, they listen. Also these spots are great because they deliver huge chunks of traffic in a very short time period.

Well, it's all about MadisonAvenue.com. It's a whole new ad network we're building out with AWESOME functionality. Right now we're rolling it out to all the sites in the SickSiteNetwork.com. By the last week of August it will be running all our ads. Then in September we'll begin handling the ads for more and more sites.

The most immediate result of using this new system on our sites is that we'll be able to sell banner ads and text link ads on a cost per click (CPC) or cost per impression (CPM) basis. So I'm holding off on pushing anymore banner deals until we get this rolled out. Well, yeah, we do run free sites. But that's the ONLY similarity to TGP's. You gotta understand, people visit TGP's for one reason and only one reason: to find porn WITHOUT paying for it. We're a whole different ballgame. We make up the world's largest archive of all the crazy/funny/disgusting/strange shit on the internet. Our archives go all the way back to 1999. People don't come to our sites (other than PornSavvy) looking for porn, let alone free porn. The only porn content we put up are the paid Video Sponsorships. Instead people come looking for the best variety of crazy and shocking shit. This is precisely why our traffic converts so well. Our surfers don't have a problem whipping out the credit card if they see something they like. Also, all our affiliate partners like TrafficCashGold, TopBucks, and PlatinumBucks tell us that our traffic retains really, really well.

As for how we come up with our pricing, the explanation is simple (the work behind it is a pain in the ass).

We base our pricing off what we can get by sending our traffic to the affiliate programs and the average number of clicks that a particular ad spot generates. When we send traffic to a particular site, if it doesn't convert 1 out of every 435 clicks we send over, we stop sending traffic to that particular site as we know we can do at least that well with other sites. So we look for a worse-case scenario of a conversion rate of 1/435.

The clicks that a particular ad spot generates vary from month to month so we update our pricing monthly. For example, take the Video Sponsorship on ConsumptionJunction.com. Based on last month's performance we should expect that spot to generate an average of 14,357 clicks. If we sent that traffic to one of the sites of an affiliate program we would expect to get 33 subscribers (14,357/435). So on traffic from ConsumptionJunction.com we average 1/435. This varies a bit from each of our sites and we incorporate that into the pricing of the different spots. For example, this is how we come up with the pricing for a Video Sponsorships on CJ:

We normally get an affiliate payment of $30 for each subscriber we create. So for one Video Sponsorship on ConsumptionJunction we make at least $990 ($30 X 33 = $990). I sell Video Sponsorships on ConsumptionJunction for $1000.

We handle the pricing on all our ad spots this way. Long story short, we sell the ad spots for what we can make off them. If you monetize our traffic as well as the affiliate programs that we base our pricing on, you can't help but make a profit. The affiliate programs make more money off our traffic than they pay out to us in commissions. They keep all the revenue from the rebills, exit consoles, check transactions, etc. They just pay us a flat commission and keep the profit. But our pricing is based off the commission, not the total amount of money earned from the subscriber. The bottom line is that you, as a site owner, can make more off our traffic than we can as affiliates.

When you buy traffic from us. You pay a flat-fee. No matter how long the sign-ups stick around and keep paying you, the cost for the traffic is the same. If you launch exit consoles to other sites and generate revenue from that, you still pay the same amount for the traffic. Every cent you make from when they click your ads on our sites is yours and you don't have to pay us anything on it.

What's with this new site linkings.com and the 120x240 Sponsor Of The Week you said I could get?

We just launched Linkings.com last week and it's already getting like 50,000 visitors a day. On each of our sites, we have navigation links to Daily Links. This used to lead to a section on each site. We launched Linkings.com as a new site and made it part of our SickSiteNetwork. We added it to our Network navigation bar and pointed all those Daily Links navigation links to it. Whala! We've got a site doing 50K a day.

As for what the site is, think Fark, or RawMeat.com. It's a link dump site where the users of the site submit links to all the interesting stuff they find on the web.

We've only got two banner spots on the site. One of them is a 120x240 spot that we highlight as the Sponsor of the Week. It's something we're also experimenting with on our www.weeklywipe.com newsletter that has over 200,000 subscribers. Think of it as a mini version of what GFY does when they skin the site. So anyone that buys an ad campaign for at least $3K gets that sponsor of the week site for a week. They can rotate in as many banners as they want.
