I can't buy an airline ticket with my epassporte?
         I just spent over an hour dealing with American Airlines trying to figure out why despite having more than enough cash in the account for the ticket, the charge wouldn't go through. After trying both cards and reading the address direct from the screen, nothing was working and AA had locked my account because they originally thought I was trying to defraud them. Then I called epassporte, who informed me that American Airlines was on their list of "un-trustworthy" companies and that I couldn't use my epassporte cards to buy tickets from them direct. I have to go to another travel site or an agent. How the hell is one of the largest airlines in the world "un-trustworthy" to epassporte? Why should I continue to allow this company to handle my money? I just spent a month and a half trying to get $500 back from an ATM that over-charged me. It eventually happened, but not until I spent more time than the money was worth fixing the situation. I've stood up for these people time and time again, but I'm fucking fed up. I'm going to withdraw every dime I have in those accounts, pay for the airline ticket in cash and start finding somebody else to use. For wasting my time, stressing me out on an otherwise great day and costing me money... :321GFY Epassporte |

Just because a company is big, doesn't mean they are good to deal with. |

Sorry to hear that Z, .............some people just dont like to take electronic cards. I ran accross a car rental like that in FT lauderdale, they wouldnt take it , walked over 2 kisosks and they were more than happy to oblige me:winkwink: I love My Epasporte:thumbsup

Just a question.. would you do business with a bank if there was one person on the face of the earth that could help you in the event something was wrong with your account?
what are you guys going to do if keyser quits epassporte? keyser is too good at what he does to be stuck with such a shitty company forever. you can't seriously believe he plans to spend his life there, and epass has made it very clear they have no interest in shaping up. |

I have yet to find a travel site that takes epass :( I usually just use my friends card and give him the cash.

After two more hours of work on this today that included two calls to AA, four calls to epassporte CS (all of which on an international cell phone) and standing at the AA ticket desk for over an hour, I eventually got to the bottom of it.
It's not that American Airlines is on epassporte's "un-trustworthy" list. It's the other way around. AA won't take epassporte cards because they're on the "un-truthworthy" list. Technically, epass cards are "pre-paid Visas". I guess that makes the $$ no good? Smooth as sandpaper. Every epassporte rep I spoke with had a different explanation as to what was happening. None could explain why I couldn't take $500 out of the ATM, even though the daily limit on the ATM was $1000 per withdrawal and it offered a $500 withdrawal as an automatic option. I had to take out the $$ in $300 increments, otherwise it told me that I had "insufficient funds". Then, I was informed on my FOURTH call to epass "customer service" (while paying $3.50 /minute with a $2 per call international connection tax) that in order to return the $1 hold that got put on the card from American Airlines, AA would have to fax a letter to epass explaining what happened. Now here's my beef - If $1 can get approved on the card, why shouldn't $467 get approved on the same card? If epass is "un-trustworthy", then how does any transaction on one of their cards get approved? The $$ was there? $1's good enough, but more isn't? Additionally, if $1 can get approved, why can't it be returned without the headache of faxing custom letters for this and that? Keyser IM'd me and I'm sure he'll return the $1 when we talk. It's not the $1 that I give a damn about. It's the 4 hours of lost time and all the headache because epassporte is considered "un-trustworthy" by a major airline. It's always bugged me when people jump on the "fuck epass" bandwagon. In general, they're very useful. There are probably 10 threads with me saying great things about epass and defending them, urging people to wait for Keyser and Sean to jump in and save the day. They always do their best and God bless them for trying. But guys, if there's going to be issues like this, warn us beforehand. Don't wait until we're screaming pissed because we can't get to our own money for one reason or another. Post a list of things you can and can't do with your epass cards. It's like my 1stSgt used to say when I was in the Marine Corps, "You can fuck with a man's sleep, you can even fuck with a man's food, but DO NOT FUCK with a man's money." |

I apologize for support giving you different answers and the trouble you had. There are various reasons why merchants rejects the virtual card like the issuing bank being in a different country than the card holder, that its a debit card, the way they run their transactions (needs to be marked a special way since its a card for online use) and so on. There is no list of where the cards work and where it doesn't work, for example I booked my tickets for WA Amsterdam last week thru a Danish airline and didn't have any problems. It?s late here and I will hit you up on ICQ tomorrow and we can talk in detail about this. |
