The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com and it was another very interesting week. 20 domains sales of $200,000 or more have been reported so far in 2006 and two of those occurred this week. A trio of five-figure Country Code domains also made our new all-extension Big Board. The week also brought the biggest .biz sale reported this year and a six-figure .info portfolio sale. I'm not saying they won't go up in the near future, but that statement is obviously false. Domains are just like real estate, and just like real estate, values can increase or decrease based on many factors.

Does anybody here want a domain name you can actually use as a terrific brand for a paysite.. to make gobs of money? This one is hot hot hot:

I have one domain doing through sedo right now, two word .com (non-adult) that got 5k without a blink... when everyone here laughed at 1k.

I had offered 150,000 on that one. Sucks to have lost it.

I got an offer for 10,000 ISeekGirls.com .... I am waiting out for a 60,000 offer.

You should take the 10,000 dollars if you actually want to sell it.

I always get random people wanting to pick up that domain. 10,000 was actually the highest but never took the bid seriously.

just goes to show you don't need the best domain to make crazy profit, you just need to find the perfect person to buy it ;)

I think mainstream people would pay more for a domain.

Mainstream people see the potential more than the reality. Adult domain buyers are all "how much traffic, how many typeins" where mainstream people are looking at things like brandability, relevance on the terms they are looking for, etc.

It great effects the end price for a domain.
