Do your kids know you are in the porn biz?

If they do, do they ever talk about it to you, or do they tell their friends?

If not when do you plan on telling them? If they find out before you tell them do you think they will feel deceived or think different about you?

I was just wondering how I will approach the topic when I have kids.

I really think the porn biz is for people without kids. Porn is for adults, and insulating them from your business and the content you work with is pretty nigh impossible.

Then, if you get them involved in lying or being slippery when they're asked what daddy/mommy does, it's not fair to the kid.

I have no kids yet but I will have no problem telling them what
daddy does. All this hypocracy about porn it total bullshit.

Besides the fact that this is a legit business I would rather have
my kids watch porn instead of violence....for some reason nobody
seems to be bothered by that or at least not as much as tits and ass.

If porn is a full time job, then I would avoid having kids.
But if it is part time, then the kids only need to know what your "DAY" job is :-)

I can´t believe the reactions......especially not from fellow porn
peddlers. What´s so secret about your job? Why not just explain
the situation. Tell them everything they want to know.

Sex is good, sex is nice...educate them prevent them from silly
experiments....teach what safe sex is. Don´t play hide and seek
Offcourse you shouldn´t tell them when they are 3 but at that
age kids also don´t understand what insurance agent means

So what´s the big deal here? My kids will know it and I hope that
when there is something worthwile for them to run once I´m done
they´re more than welcome to take over the wheel.

My husband's two narrow minded idiot chiildren (ages 38 and 40) - have cut off all contact with us and the grandchildren. for the last 4 years)
Like it changed me at all .. except that I could NOW afford to send all the grandkids through college.

My son, age 24, - works in the industry too - he's a programmer for a major sponsor. So of course he has NO problem with it, and never has.

My first daughter knew what I was doing. Until she was 16 I kept her away from seeing any of the porn I did. But I would have guessed she found where I hid it.

Up until she was 12 I did it part time and as me and her mother were seperated, I could not shoot the weekends she was with me.

I always told her what I did and was straight with her, porn is not a dirty word in my house. Plus as she was eating the food the business provided she can't complain.

She grew up pretty straight, never been in trouble with the police, does not do drugs and lost her viginity at 19. She is now 25 with a beautiful 8 month old daughter and in a long term relationship. Sometimes I wonder where I went wrong:winkwink:

Just hope I can do as good a job with her half sister Victoria, 4 months and had her first solid food this weekend:)

But you will be pitting your kids against the attitudes of the world around them. This is fair for an adult, but being a kid is pretty hard as it is nowadays. They'll have to go through their youth as "that pornographer's kids," won't they?

I didn't get into the biz until my daughter was an adult. She's okay with it now, but I'm glad I didn't saddle her with it when she was an adolescent. Being a teen is hard enough without having to put up with all the shit she would have gotten. And it wouldn't be like me to hide anything I do from anybody. She knows about it now and is cool enough with it to have sent one of her friends to me when she was looking for ways to round up some quick $.

Yes, this is along the line i'm thinking, you don't want other kids that they are around finding out because then they go home and tell their parents... "Susie's dad works with porn" ..then those parents tell their kids that "susie's dad is a dirty man" then your kids gets hell at school...

I don't have kids, but I always just imagined that if you had kids and told them, then they would tell their friends, their friends would tell their parents and then it becomes a situation where the other parents tell their kids they can't go over to so and so's house because his parents are perverts.... then it becomes like salem witch hunt situation...

You're not wrong. What's wrong, in my opinion, is putting your kids through that.

So what you're saying is either don't tell them until they are old enough to have friends that don't care what their parents say or don't be in the biz?

So when was your daughter not okay with it?
And how long were you doing it before you told her?

While she was at college Jo (daughter) would bring a friend to the models parties we had at Stringfellows in London. Where the porn industry used any excuse for a gathering. She met people like David Sullivan, Ben Dover and Sarah Young. She had a list of people wanting to come to the next party. But she never sent any of her friends to work for me, not sure I would have liked that.

I think the problem is, many of you that you live in the US. The biggest market for porn and prudishness. I lived in the UK and here in Czech it's less of a problem.

Allison, tell your neighbors you have an AK47 and they will all come over to try it. Tell them you photograph nudes and they will burn your house down.

DynaSpain, you can hardly predict what you will do once you have kids until you have them.

I tell my daughter i do online sales and marketing, the specific products I work with are not important. I used to bartend, my daughter knew that, she didn't ask what kind of drinks i made.

Why should we be any different? Children aren't meant to know the fine details of every aspect of life, that's why they have parents to help them along the way.
