AFF/Cams.com and 2257 documentation.

Your terms of service for your affiliate program clearly state you require all your affiliates to be fully 2257 compliant.

Quote:

You agree to fully comply with 18 USC 2257 et seq, ("2257") including but not limited to its notice and recordkeeping requirements, as a condition precedent to your participation in this affiliate program or providing any traffic or links from your web pages to our Sites, graphics, web pages, and content or making use of the Program Materials. You agree to immediately provide to us as requested, in our sole discretion, record keeping documents and data needed for us to comply with 2257 or for us to audit, from time to time, your compliance with such statute.
What's your official stance on affiliates who aren't 2257 compliant?

same thing they do when someones using pirated software and stolen content... give a blind eye and continue to let the cash roll in

I don't doubt it.

I believe they were or had claimed to be exempt in the past on the sundance vs reno grounds (as well as other personals). Im not sure now where that puts them. Im not a lawyer.

I'm not talking about the content they use. I'm talking about how they don't enforce their own terms and conditions.

Double L 07-25-2006 08:56 PM

oh i mis-read.. my bad...

Their stance is likely as before in the other thread with other sites that were stealing content and promoting them. Basically they'll give a warning if they have to, otherwise avoid it.

Whatever makes you think they enforce their own terms and conditions? I've yet to see it if they do. I wish they would. They added that just to help cover their ass if needed.

Maybe Lars will post something here so we can see his 3/4 screen sig about how you can contact their lawyers if you need help.:1orglaugh
