I will be your BITCH for a DELL (details inside)

Believe it or not. I have been working on one of two machines. A 466 Compaq that I built myself, and a 366 IBM with many extras. They were both GREAT machines (for what they are)
until lately when they started having HDD issues and other problems.

I am willing to work for you, doing whatever it is you need (within reason). I can get started as soon as my new machine hits my doorstep. I am not asking for much, both options below are close to base packages. I am not very limited for time except that I do still have to fullfill my current client agreements to keep the bills paid. Other than that... I AM YOURS.

We can setup a 1-2 month agreement or work on a job per job basis, either way I am flexible.

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...DB110RF1&s=dhs with the only add-on being the free 17' flat panel upgrade.

or for a little EXTRA work...

http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...=E1505S1&s=dhs I have always believed that I could get more done with a laptop. Again, no add-ons needed.

I can't wait to see what bullshit responses come from this. Or even more important, ehat SERIOUS responses come from this.

My current machines make it hard for me to meet deadlines for clients when the fucking ancient boxes I work on keep crashing and what-not.

PLEASE! I beg for your help.

My mouth waters every time I see them damned DELL commercials advertising the flat panel upgrade, hehe.

ALSO!

I am willing to work for a used system that is in fairly new condition. If you have something laying around that gets no use, I WILL PUT GOOD USE TO IT!

Dell really isn't that great of a computer(s). However they do have the best monitors on the market. Atleast at the moment...

Good luck mate, I've seen some good designs come from you in contests. Surely one of the bigger guys around here could hook you up with this in exchange for work.

wdsguy 07-24-2006 11:45 AM

Might be time to find a local job around town if you're workin on those ancient machines.

Hey, thanks.

I am not really looking for that great of a computer, just something better than this shit I have been working on.

aico 07-24-2006 11:49 AM

I own a Mac Quad 2.5 GHZ, so you are already my bitch. :pimp

Yeah, what with the house payment, insurance, the outstanding gas bills (gosh) and other utilities. Not to mention the legal matters such as child support and fines from unpaid traffic tickets. Good thing I don't have to pay a car payment and car insurance. Then add on my hosting, domains and other business related costs. A local job would really help... NOT!

Some folks amaze me.

joshll 07-24-2006 11:51 AM

i might be able to fix you up with something but doubtbly a dell.
my old man owns a PC store and i can get everything i want.. he doesnt stock dell or symantec though.

haha, I like that. I miss my Macs. Used to have two of them until they were too old and past the cost of repair. I really didn't want to let them go :(

People collect old Macs, might be worth a lot of money to some people. :2 cents:

Perhaps, but I am not looking to buy. Otherwise I would be on eBay instead of GFY. Thanks though. If this doesn't go through and I end up with a bit of extra cash, I will be in touch. :thumbsup

I finally threw them in the dumpster. They were both iMacs, but one was the Granite 400SE which was a damn nice machine. The best iMac of its time.

What he said really isn't that out of line. You said you had few time limitations. You can get a new computer for $500, or if you have even decent credit, just $10-20 a month. That's peanuts considering its your main tool for earning a living.

Good luck on your search. I have no idea how you went this long on those ancient computers.

Well a local job would never cover my cost of living. Especially with my level of education.

As far as buying a computer... anything I make over my costs is for Ramen Noodles and cat/dog food/litter. And I am in debt up to my eyebrows, so the rest goes for that. I will need to buy school clothes for my child soon, and I like to drink a 12 pack once in awhile.

I'm glad everyone else is financially stable, and one day my work will pay off and I too will be stable.

E$_manager 07-24-2006 12:09 PM

once more: good luck in your searchings. i wish i could help you.

Doctor Dre 07-24-2006 12:13 PM

With the 5 cents per gallery I'm sure if you work on that 12 hours a day you'll pay the thing in less then a month ;)

Haha, nice. If I were to take that job I would get 1 gallery done per minute (or longer).

He wasn't saying get a local job as a replacement. He was saying get a local job as a supplement since you have available time. Would help you pull out of debt, too.

Yes. This has been considered. There are a few things that prevent me from getting work locally, so I backed out of the idea. Besides, this is more interesting.

DaddyHalbucks 07-24-2006 12:23 PM

I have a few Dell desktops, with 17' flat screens, great machines!

lazycash 07-24-2006 12:25 PM

You can pick up a refurbished/scratch and dent dell with all those specs and have it delivered for under $350 at www.delloutlet.com I just picked up 2 of them as gifts last month and they have been running great.

Local jobs are no good. I've only worked online, since I was 15. When I run low on funds I find some freelance work like he is doing.

Time, effort, interviews, gas, calls, and with the job market the way it is unless you want to flip burgers for $6 an hour.. then it's going to take a month. Then you've got 2 weeks+ before your first check. Hell 5 jobs at 100$+ and he made more in a week then he did in 2 months at a local job.

So he probably has high school degree/GED or maybe not. Hell even with a college degree good luck finding work. You create your own job market. I'm not minted by any means but i make a stable income doing what I do. Keep up with it bro. We all go through rough times. Even this huge playas. I'm so sick of everyone's fucking solution is "get a real job"

People are here turning 25k/day profits and you want him to go to Mcdonalds lol. He isn't asking for a hand out he is asking for WORK. And instead of cash we wants a computer. Maybe he should of just asked for paying work.. and bought the comp. But he was probably looking to cut a deal.

Lil, pissed, lol. My entry life is "get a job" / "find a local job" / "you'll never make it online" ... Really? Then WTF are we all doing here...

Funny we both made the same typo with the 17' instead of 17".

Imagine a 17' monitor for work. I sit in front of this shitty CRT any longer I will soon be blind enough to need a 17' screen.

Good thing for some great guy to consider... I will take scratch and dent as payment.

This may be a dumb question but what work do you do? programmer? graphics? a six hundred dollar computer is not really asking a lot. Just not sure what you do

Nice post. Some of these people just don't get it. They get their first break online and forget what it's like to barely make ends meet... and the rest of them are either fibbing about their riches or living with mom (or in a hand me down house) where they don't have rent, house payments and bills.

I am useful for many things. I do not code, but I have taken both CGI and PHP languages and built a full design around them. I currently do blog posting, but now that I am a rep for xLabor, I refer all that type of work to them. I do design work, mostly web stuff like banners buttons and logos. While I am not the flashiest designer here, I do know what I am doing and have satisfied customers.
I have ran TGPs and Linklists in the past, but was never really good at generating traffic so the work never paid the cost. I can review and crop and write desc etc. (again I must refer that type of work to xLabor). I am really a jack of all trades since I have always had to do everything myself. I never hire out work for my own projects, always done it hands on.

It really is flexible. Approach me with a task and I will honestly take it or turn it down based on my experience with the type of work.

Chris 07-24-2006 12:38 PM

xlabor wont hook you up?
not bashing just kinda strange you work for em and they wont supply a work machine?

MaddCaz 07-24-2006 12:39 PM

hehee good luck. This is funny...

Murderous 07-24-2006 12:40 PM

This is really an oppurtunity to get more experience, learn something new, meet some great new clients, have fun with it, and get a new computer out of it. Nothing more really.

Would it be worth it to them to supply a machine for me to post on a board and answer ICQ/emails? I get commisioned for my work. I don't work, I don't get paid. Besides, I just got paid and used it on my house payment. And I love my house. First time buyer.

You need to learn more skills. otherwise you'll sit doing the same thing for years.

Murderous 07-24-2006 12:48 PM

Either way, visit xLabor.com and purchase a custom blog or one of our great services. I can buy a new computer myself.

notabook 07-24-2006 12:48 PM

You can get you a fully functional computer for $199.00 (AR, no monitor), but more than suitable for most your needs. AMD Sempron 3100+, 512MB Ram, 100GB Hard Drive.

how many blogs or services do you have to sell to get your dell?

I have MANY skills. So i don't know Flash and Programming languages. It doesn't mean I don't have skills. Not only can I do most everything any webmaster can do, I am experienced in many industries besides adult. I have had a pretty bad back injury that more or less took me out.

I would collect social security if it wasn't so hard to prove a back injury. Besides... one day I will own a much LARGER business and employ more than 30 people, so social security was thrown out the door. I won't let a $600/month check stop me from my dreams as a business owner.

Depends on the service. It can take one GOOD deal, or several smaller deals. The most popular one is Blog Posting. This is where my commision rolls over every month the client stays on. Some blog owners have us posting to several blogs, several times a day which equals a hefty income. Commision is nice so long as you keep the publics interest.

Yeah, If I were to buy it myself I would get a motherboard/cpu combo. I have a beautiful ATX tower and a few good HD's. I would need a monitor though... these two are SHIT!

You lost me on this one, do you mean disability? How would collecting disability impede your ability to one day own a business?

You can only make so much money or they shut you off. Disability is a supplemental income for those unable to work and collect their own income. Owning a business may be fine so long as you don't pull in a huge profit every month. I said I want to own a LARGER business where I employ 20-30 people, in which I am sure would qualify as a "job" that makes more than the allowed income.

To recieve disability, you must prove you are unable to work. managing employees or even sitting in a wheelchair posting on a forum with a $400 sig is enough to lose your benefits.

obviously minimum wage won't cut it, by the sounds of it the job market sucks where you are but if you're going into big debt in the hopes that 'one day' it will all pay off, i hope you have a backup plan. especially since you have a kid.

Deputy Chief Command 07-24-2006 02:53 PM

hmm, kind of strange ! ! why dont you ask XLABOR that you can do some of the jobs ?

or better yet if you are a SKILLED webmaster , why dont you earn some dollars the normal webmaster way , getting commision on sales ?

Sultry_Selenia 07-24-2006 02:53 PM

Good luck with this, I never found someone that had a worse work computer than me - until now. That's painful.

Don't talk to me about shit that took you out. We all go through shit that "takes us out".

I have been through it all. I had a bout with anxiety, a common-law divorce, a child to support as well, OCD, tourettes, social phobia and other medical conditions. I honed my skills and pushed through. I am in pretty big debt and make a somewhat decent wage. I, like everyone out there, need more money.

Here's the difference though. Instead of coming along begging for pity work I actually take my extra time and work on my own shit that will pay off later on. For the short term boost in income to help alleviate my bills and get back on track I plan to work extra to achieve it. I am getting myself into a new local electronics shop to work on commission to sell electronics while still working full time for my web employer. I'm not here begging for people to buy me a computer. I saved the money and earned it as well as worked hard like a motherfucker to gain a bonus and bought it. I ended up buying a pretty wicked system.

There's nothing wrong with getting a local non web job. If you have any skills you can get a decent paying job locally temporarily to get yourself back on track or at least lessen the financial burden a bit.

I think you just think you are too good to do anything else and won't swallow your fucking pride. You have responsibilities and deserve to get your life back on track. Do something about it. Do what it takes. is it going to kill you to earn $10 an hour working part time on the side? No, it will help you get back to your goal.

It's like a 19 year old saying they refuse to work at walmart because they have bigger dreams. well.. where's the first step.

Why not ask your employers for advice? It never hurts, maybe they can steer you towards a sister company or someone respected by your company that needs some stuff done.

Otherwise, nobody's going to buy you a computer for you to do work that your heart won't even be into.

Step up, be a man, get out and get a supplemental job locally or find something you can do for yourself and get yourself back on track.

Anywho.. if all you want is at least a computer to get going why not ask for overtime for a bonus, take that extra money and buy a decent system. Or suck it up princess and get a local job for a month to buy a decent one. You're only as good as your tools. That's a very important fact to take into consideration.

I'm not trying to harp on you or belittle you. I understand where you're coming from but you gotta do what you gotta do. Even if it is extra by minimum wage.
