I still see ads though, so I doubt they are losing any money at all

I doubt that they generate most revenues from the login page. I would think the profile views and such are the money makers.

i would imagine that the front page ads are paid placements, so as long as they are up then advertisers are happy

A lot more then that . We have the same kind of traffic and it does pretty good with advertising...

To lose money they would have to make money. Hence, a problem.

Oh, I am sure it does.... I would however like to hear why someone would think that it does not.

I don't have any idea but I hope they could fix that problem as soon as possible.
