:) Just kidding. That can be a tough one, as not all wines are sold in all states/countries. |

I am curious to see some of the replys in this thread. I always believed in trying different wines regardless of price and just buying what you like.
Everyone does have different tastes though. I have enjoyed a $10 bottle of 2005 pinot noir from a local winery just as much as a $150 bottle of 2001 Opus One. |
Barolo's nice.
|
if red wine ... Italian Chianti, but not the cheapest one!
if white ... French Chardonnay ... again not the cheapest one ;) if champagne ... anything from Moet and Chandon e.g. Dom Perignon if you want the best of their production :) |
if you're new at wine selection, go to http://www.wine.com/ and there you'll have some good guidance

I like a good chardonnay now and again. There's one from Australia called "Gold Coast", it's not too expensive at all and does a table proud.
There are a few German rieislings that are nice as well, but I can't think of any names offhand. |

go to the liq store grab 5 bottles in the $10 range and try them
expensive doesnt mean youll like it, I drink a lot of 5 dollar Merlot cause its a 100% merlot wine and I like spicy wines. Tags on a bottle are nice but paying 100 more just cause it says a famous name. Nah. |
my fav are: malbec, syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon (all red wine)

Nuits Saint Georges if you are after a great bottle of red. Of course they vary in price but you can bet your bottom you wont get crap even at the lower end.
