Lets hope he has a good game.

For the sake of the Yankees.

A-rod is currently on pace for:
AB Runs Hits HR RBI SB BA
608 115 170 36 122 15 .280

^^Great numbers for sure

Jeter is currently on pace for:
AB Runs Hits HR RBI SB BA
620 106 211 10 99 34 .340

^^Great numbers too

It's possible Soriano will be a Yankee again. Arod is just one of many contributors to the teams success, not the Messiah. No one player can win every game. It's crazy the pressure players have on them in NY, but it goes for playing in the biggest market in MLB. But if you don't go 5-5 with 5 homeruns, you're a failure and batteries are whizzing by your head. Damn.

yup, i agree plus his fielding is lacking....could have gotten many players for his #s with a huge savings left over to get some pitching

Those are MVP caliber numbers for anyone on a winning team. I like that he took the money and wanted to play for a winning team. It's capitalism at it's finest. Arod puts asses in seat and help the Yankee gain a wider viewing audience. I'm a baseball fan, and he makes games exciting to see and gives them media even more reasons to talk about the Yankees. Steinbreiner is a genius. My ex gf loved when Arod went to the Yankees to play along side Jeter. I'm sure she alternating fantasies with thoughts of them while banging me :1orglaugh

I'm all for an incentive based pay scale, but not if it's purely driven by stats. There are certain qualities that players bring to a team that aren't measured on the back of a baseball card.

ehh fuck the Yanks go tigers!

kenny 07-23-2006 12:06 PM

That guy really lost it.

I know Rodriguez numbers are not uber amazing, but they are solid. The problem is his lack of coming through in the clutch. In all fairness he did win the MVP for the AL just last last year. The first time in 20 years the award was in NY (Mattingly). But a championship is MUCH nicer than an MVP for sure, and I bet Arod would agree :)

** an apology for the shitty spacing

Moraxian 07-23-2006 12:49 PM

The Yankees don't deserve to go anywhere this year. Same with any other team that has a losing record against the Nationals.

Of course, being a Nats fan, I am a bit biased...
