Google experts, getting blog pages listed

Hey everyone, I can't seem to figure out how the hell to get the deeper pages of my blog listed with google. Perhaps because it's only been a month that my sites been out, but i've heard of blogs getting listed in shorter time. The blog in question is in my sig, can you notice something i'm doing wrong? I can only seem to get the main page listed.

I have a sitemap, and even put one of those crawl pages at the bottom, but still nothing. Should I just continue to wait and eventually it will do a deep crawl? Thanks!

new sites get only the main page indexed at the begining (some sort of sandbox)
to escape this get some quality inbound links.

vanillaice 07-22-2006 11:23 PM

Yea, been working on that. Hopefully that will help it a bit. I did notice after the 'big daddy' update a few months ago, one of my other sites were stuck on one page, then out of nowhere a few weeks ago all the pages were listed. Sucky results, but still listed. Maybe like I said, it will take time unless of course I can get the good inbound links like you said

Helps to have an RSS feed up if you don't already. Other sites linking to specific posts :thumbsup

edgeprod 07-23-2006 03:30 AM

What software are you using to run your blog? Different packages have different ways of linking/updating, etc.

All right stop!!!!!!!!..........

.................... collaborate and listen
Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Flow like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop yo I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle
Dance go rush to the speaker that booms
I'm killing your brain like a poisonous mushroom
Deadly when I play a dope melody
Anything less than the best is a felony
Love it or leave it you better gain weight
You better hit bull's eye the kid don't play
If there was a problem yo I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How old is the domain name?

vanillaice 07-23-2006 09:29 AM

I'm using wordpress for the blog..

Domain name is roughly 2 months old, so that could also be another issue. Just weird they refuse to go deeper than one page, but maybe that's just part of the algo..

Thanks for the replies!

Get some trades going!

Since you're using Wordpress, I would add the Optimal Title plugin. You will then get your post titles listed first. Now, your title tags are always plugging the main blog title which is good - "Hot Model Reviews" - but not necessarily good for getting the individual posts in the SERP.

JDavis mentioned having an RSS feed. Yours is using the default built into Wordpress but I would consider using Feedburner. I know that my posts get into Google searches based on their output also.

Great tips, i'll try em out thank you!

I'm just starting to get spidered on mine too.

Go over to Greenguy & Jim board. There is a subboard just for blog issues and link exchanging.

I started hitting everyone up and doing link exchanges and it has helped.

My women's erotica blog is a special case though. On the one hand, not everyone has a for women category ( a lot do thank goodness) and so they just shove mine in under "other" categories.

On the other hand, since women's erotica isn't as big of an area as say teens, if you have a women's site, you tend to get spidered quickly in that area.

I've gone from a few hundred hits a day to about 3,000 uniques and that's only been in the first month!

I've got hope!

Hey vanilla, when I launch my regular porn blog, we'll have to do link exchanges! :winkwink:

do it manually. Don't the sitemaps plugin it pings google too many times and makes google think you're using the black hat blog and ping shit. Seriously, I removed the plug-in and started getting MORE Google traffic

vanillaice 07-23-2006 12:56 PM

Interesting, I didn't know that. Thanks. Maybe I will have to disable it then.

czarina 07-23-2006 12:59 PM

There is a site map builder for WP, search gfy, there was a link here. Also work on the position of your keywords. Take for instance, the last article, It starts out talking about Kate, and then switches. I think that the Kates part throws the thing off.

vanillaice 07-23-2006 01:19 PM

Yea, I definitely need a bit of work on my wording. Trying to balance a review with SEO. I want to avoid sounding like a broken record, but like the keywords.

Btw, does anyone know about keyword density's or anything like that? Should I be paying attention to that?
