I need help (WordPress)
 

Hey. I need some Wordpress help. I just tried to post a Page, and it locked up on me. Now I can't access the blog or the control panle, etc. Anyone know what caused this and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.

Possible, but I think it has something to do with the locking up on me while I was trying to post a Page.

I'm on shared virtual hosting. Can I do that...and how? Thanks.

you also need to set the chmod so the page can be written.

I did that. I've written Pages before...this is the first time I've ever had one lock up on me. Could it be that somehow it's still trying to post itself?

could be if you have a lot of sites you ping it could just be going through that process but even so you should still be able to open it up in another browser window if that were the only issue.

Yeah, I can't open the blog or control panel with anything. It acts like it's trying to find it, then it times out.

Maybe your host is down?

Sounds like you may have a problem with the database. Check the status on mysql. I just had one go down on DreamHost, the db server is screwed... or was.

Why dont you use of the official wordpress forum instead of an adult webmaster forum? Just an idea..

yeah. the wp geeks can be very helpful some times it takes a few hours but their some smart mofos

How many pings are you doing?

If you ping list is 30 sites long it takes as long as it takes to get through the list... Or you can install plugins like No Ping Wait and Smart Update Pinger... They will make sure it doesn't wait for pings and does it for you in the background.
