Is there any proof the "Temple Wall" in Jerusalem is the real thing?
 

I mean how do they know it is indeed a wall from Salomon's temple? I ask this because:

1) there is NO historical hard evidence there ever was a King Salomon (forget the Bible/Talmud shit, it is worthless and only impress morons)

2) it sure looks a lot like a fucking Roman wall. Funny thing, all those idiots praying for some roman building. :1orglaugh

Solomon's Temple (the First Temple) was destroyed about 600BC when the Jews were exiled into Babylon. Work on the Second Temple began after their return to Jerusalem and it was eventually destroyed by the Romans. When Titus burned and destroyed much of Jerusalem and the Temple, he left three towers and what is known as the "Western Wall" (thought to be part of a retaining wall built by Herod) standing as a reminder to the Jews that they had been conquered.

It is one of the great unwritten laws of life to never question anyone's decision to follow a religion. You can debate them on the content of the religion, but don't ever insult them.

The problems in the middle east have little to do with religion. Blaming foreign violence on religion is just an easy cop out for not accepting the truth. It comes down to two things...

- A lack of natural resources that would make these countries more stable (oil can't do it alone). Their geographic location in general is a very difficult place to build up a society from scratch.

- A lack of international aide. Especially when one country, such as Israel, gets a lot but it's neighbors get very little. This inflames tempers and is the one and only cause of middle east on western world terrorism.

Those of you who think religion fuels middle east conflict need to turn off FOX News.



And for those of you who think religion is a bad thing for society, try educating yourselves. Almost every aspect of our society was either built by the church or heavily influenced by religion. We would still be living like barbarians without it.

If you could break down the three most important aspects of human life you'd have; caring for others in need, education and obeying the law. Without any one of these, a society crumbles. They are also what makes a society what it is.

So let's take a look at how early Christians influenced them, shall we?

HELPING:

Christians innovated the concept of hospitals caring for anyone regardless of who they are, and turning no one away. And I don't even need to get into the charity work of the early Christians.

ADVANCING ONES SELF:

They opened the first organized schools for small children and were the first to promote education for all. In fact, the concept of the promotion of higher learning wasn't around before the Christian monks made it possible.

THE LAW:

Even our modern laws are based on the ten commandments.
