true.com ads on myspace. They pull the hottest girls.

Some are absolutely stunning.

BiggleJones 07-22-2006 12:56 PM

yea...but they also have lots of ads with guys wrestling each other and playing with gardening hoses and shit :)

Really?

Do they target myspace by gender? Because I only get a rotation of 10's. Females.

WiredGuy 07-22-2006 01:03 PM

I find it odd that True.com was founded based on the principle of presenting only real girls and boys. I wonder if those 10's are really looking for dates on there :)

I thought the exact same thing. I mean, the ads sort of work against them for any educated surfer. When I see the ads, I notice the girls, but I also assume the database is full of lies. :)

They all start off being "ethical" till they realize that they have to play the game to compete.

The girls who answer the 900 numbers are all 10's too. And reality sites are real. :thumbsup

I think you're going to see more and more dating sites jump the shark as they get desperate for customers. Sites like Myspace have taken huge chunks of people from them.

Totally. I noticed the lighting as well. Those girls are very hot models.

When I first saw the ads, I thought it was something for Calvin Klein or whatnot.

I think they will just adapt. They already have the traffic in place and a model that has a proven success rate.

The odd thing about true is that they go against the grain. Match.com (and the likes) attempt to make the girls in the ads appear to be girls from the site.

But true.com seems not to care. They seem to know that the end user will realize that the girls aren't on the site; almost like they just want the click-through.

Still 90 % of the people on the web are not educated...

Yeah, but True.com used to always pride themselves on being real, seems they subdued for the profit margin :)

Considering that many of the girls from their ads are the same girls we use in ours I know they're not; they're just stock photos. What ticks me off is they (or more precisely their advertising company) starts using them soon after we do.

They copied a successful business model :)

I know you guys started the media frenzy on myspace, they just followed suit after seeing how many people they could reach. I do remember that some of the creatives were pretty much the same and i couldn't tell if the ad was for true.com or you guys at one point.
