I agree but you have to keep in mind good idea to double check entries with another reference to be sure its accurate.

I use it for researching tons of cool stuff. Especially the wildlife in my area, I never knew there were lizards in Pa.

Wikipedia IS NOT an encyclopedia. That's what scares me the most abou that site, people actually take the information on it as fact. It's usually the same people who don't take the time to read the "About Wikipedia" information page.

Fantastic site. As others say, you have to doublecheck the information (and luckily many times links to reference pages have been added) since the information can be modified by anybody.

You should check out web.archive.org, great site. They had old pics and whatnot that i lost from back in 99, man that is a great site!

bad info gets weeded out fast. its best to source your info with articles and whatnot for veracity.

That's weird, cuz it says right on their site that it can take up to several months for wrong information to be removed. I guess it's depends on your definition of fast.

However, I'm not sure I would do an serious research without double checking it.

For general interest and reading though, I love it. I have found myself stuck in Wikipedia for hours and hours. Just reading, and then clicking a link that it references that I don't know about. Takes hours to wind up back at the original topic and finally understand it all.
