Big Screen TV's 65+

Is anyone making TV's larger than 65" ? Whats a guy need to do to cover a wall with a large TV, buy a movie theatre ?

What about a projection screen?

nocostporn 06-08-2002 09:12 PM

they make 80'' big screens now ... anything bigger you for sure have to go projection...

What companies offer the best receptions ? Cable, DirecTV, Dish Net, other ? Any experience with this ? Cable here locally really sucks. Some channels come in good but a lot of others, especially local ones have poor receptions with a lot of shows.

Just shopping around. All the technological advancements and improvements, I'm wondering why TV isn't almost perfect now.

toshiba rocks. I have a 65" widescreen HDTV. Bastards told me AFTER I bought it there was one over 70".......... grrrrrrrrr

1 1/2 inces to spare getting it the house through the door frame AFTER they took the door off it's hinges.

I loved watching the guys carry in my 65" HDTV (Mitsubishi). I didn't think it would fit through the front door, but somehow they did it. They were wearing this harnass thing that went over each of their shoulders and connected between them, and the tv was balanced (more or less) on that. Hard to describe. You had to see it. But it looked like an absolute back breaker.

Enjoy your new tv, whatever you end up getting...

yeah, the width thing is a real plus, and it 'only' weighs around 200 lbs or so.

SleazyDream 06-08-2002 11:31 PM

mind you it isn't all that much more money for a plasma, and they are a LOT thinner than that.

Brujah 06-08-2002 11:47 PM

the grand wega looks sweet.
can you pickup tv reception from any source that would make use of the tv's potential ?

You guys are just daydreamers, a friend of mine got a 88" (!!!) flatscreen television, it's like a huge painting on the wall. (Especially when he puts up a Rembrandt wallpaper, out of 999 standard wallpapers, waterfalls and fishbowls).

He bought the thing in The Netherlands, so I don't know if they sell those babies in the US. But it's wicked.

I have a 60" Mitsubishi diamond series HDTV. I love it the picture is so damn clear! :321GFY

I got the 65" Mitsubishi Diamond, the thing is awesome, plasma pictures just aren't good enough yet, so I went for the rear projection, currently in the process of cutting a whole in my wall to sink it in so it's flush with the wall. Fucking sweet. I would gett he 70" mitsubishi. :thumbsup
