http://news.yahoo.com/s/nf/20060721/tc_nf/44765

Doh! Rupert...how could you? :disgust

majorbitch 07-21-2006 03:18 PM

That's just sad. You'd think a company as big as Myspace would have better security over their ads

Shoehorn! 07-21-2006 03:21 PM

MySpace sucks.

fris 07-21-2006 04:03 PM

a lot of people have zango on their myspace pages too.

Xenophage 07-21-2006 04:07 PM

Stumps 07-21-2006 04:09 PM

Rupert is cool. I used to work for him in London. I saw him interviewed last night for about an hour. Great info about his plans for MySpace and the future of media in general. For 75 he is still one sharp cookie. :thumbsup

ProducerCashDave 07-21-2006 06:06 PM

Damn myspace and Tom

kind of. its all about the partners you keep right , i guess one of their ad partners screwed them. could happen to anyone. if a vengefull tech wanted to make yahoo or google ads install trojans they could :) so could one of gfy's advertisers :) not much you can do about it security wise without removing functionality :) as soon as you put an offsite script on your site , your basically trusting everything on that network just the same as if it were your own.

Stacey_JoinRightNow 07-21-2006 10:30 PM

eowwww, part of advertisements...

I don't think it will effect their traffic that much. Most People just don't care.

When you are using one of the leading advertising firm you trust them to do the job...

aico 07-21-2006 11:51 PM

Do most MySpace users even know what a Trojan is?

potter 07-21-2006 11:55 PM

exploited a flaw in the way Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) browser handles Windows Metafile (WMF) image files

Figures. Too bad for them I don't use IE. Hell, I'm not even on that shit ass system they call Windows.

Mr. Soul 07-22-2006 03:46 AM

People still use Windows and IE?

And, it's a crime to exploit bugs in MS software? It should be considered free education for MS users. A stupid tax, if you will.

woj 07-22-2006 03:48 AM

I'd be willing to wager that Firefox + OSX Tiger would do the trick. :winkwink:
