Changing MPEG Quality
I have a bunch of avi clips, but they were saved out as mega huge files, they are like 30-40 megs for 30 second clips.
Whats a good program that I can use to drop the mpegs size down? any help would be greatly appreciated... |
ohh also, if there was one that allowed batch processes, that would be even better!

Use VirtualDub (it's freeware) to make them DiVX. It will be a lot smaller (I can get 30 second clips to be 1.7MB and look great).. I don't know if you can batch though.

Windows Media Batch Encoder - converts to wmv and very high quality (if you use it properly) with very nice file sizes

right on! thanks... :thumbsup I'm trying it now, but don't see any variable for compressing in DiVX, is that something extra I need to get? |

www.divx.com though i'd recommend using version 4.** |

you need to d/l the divx codec. http://www.divx.com/ and yes you can batch with VDub. When you click "save as avi" the dialog box will pop up, lower left corner check "add operation to job list and defer processing" the F4 key will let you access the job list. the docs are at http://www.virtualdub.org |
