feed the kid whatever, then take it to a place like cold stone or whatever where they will allow it to have whatever toppings it wants smashed up into its icecream.

Plan a picnic!

Get a picnic basket and a table cloth for the ground, pack sandwiches and snacks together and head to the park. Maybe take along a kite.

:thumbsup

Hooters if he is a boy

Lycanthrope 07-20-2006 02:34 PM

Hey chickie, if she is well behaved, take her to Crawdaddy's (yes, it's Cajun . Creole, but they have some items kids will like). It gives you a decent atmosphere, great food at a reasonable price and since they let you draw all over the table "clothes" and such she'll be occupied.

angeleyes 07-20-2006 02:42 PM

Do they have Mr. Frogs Playland near you? It's a cooler version of Chuck E Cheese with a lot more than Pizza and a bigger play area.

reynold 07-20-2006 06:23 PM

How about an ice cream treat? I bet he'll surely love that. :)

candyflip 07-20-2006 06:24 PM

PF Chang's. Everyone loves it.

Alex 07-20-2006 06:25 PM

Get him faded and take him to in and out.

L-Pink 07-20-2006 06:26 PM

Go to that place where you can beat the mole in the head with a plastic hammer.

Spunky 07-20-2006 06:27 PM

Take her to an amusement park and let her feast on cotton candy and little donuts

Mr. Romance 07-20-2006 06:27 PM

Sounds fucking gay.

sexypond 07-20-2006 06:30 PM

Amusement park is the good choice

L-Pink 07-20-2006 06:32 PM

Go to a Chinese restaurant, order the appetizers that come on a lazy-susan and teach her how to use chopsticks.

Doctor Dre 07-20-2006 06:34 PM

Get her bowling... arround here they have great mesusms for kids. Water parks are nice too.

madawgz 07-20-2006 06:37 PM

burger king? :)

Scootermuze 07-20-2006 06:38 PM

Just give her a list of places to go, or things to do and let her decide..

Kids like feeling that they have a part in decision making..

chase 07-20-2006 06:40 PM

If there is a Rainforest Cafe in your area, you MUSt take her, lol. It is SUCH a cool place to eat. A little pricey for my family to go often, but the food is good and the atmosphere is amazing..next best thing to actually eating a good meal in a rainforest.

nAtuRaLbEautY 07-20-2006 06:43 PM

Amusement park would be fun!!! :)

JaneB 07-20-2006 08:10 PM

I would let her pick a place. Kids are very good at that. I know here they have a place that serves tea and sandwiches, and little girls just love it.

Nice idea. Outdoours or at at the beach, sitting and eating watching the waves, or an eagle flying etc. while spending your time laughing and enjoying your lunch can be some of those moments when kids feels so free, at peace and happy. The moments some of us look back on through our life that always comfort us like an old friend you can always depend on.

I love that saying... "Kids need our presence more than our presents."

Ask him what he wants to eat, and whether he wants to eat in or sit in the park, or elsewhere.

I wish you both a happy time Babagirls. :)

E$_manager 07-20-2006 10:21 PM

my daughter likes McDonalds, we also go to ChFarina pizza, where there is a chidrens' playground.

ProducerCashDave 07-20-2006 10:22 PM

Ah, damn I was about to say Chucky Cheese

Ohm 07-20-2006 10:23 PM

Anywhere.

phypon 07-20-2006 10:24 PM

BoyAlley hit it on the head (no pun intended)

Picnic all the way. You'll have a great time and get to relax and spend quality time with the kids.

Donny 07-20-2006 10:31 PM

She's 8. She's not so small as to have to have a "child's" place to eat. Take her wherever you'd take a friend. Talk to her like a friend. Then after dinner ask if she'd like some ice cream. Then take her to a movie or something. Kids her age like to be treated like they're a "big girl" ya know?

I think it can be a mistake trying to be a friend to your kids as opposed to a parent. She is only 8, maybe the friendship ploy should come around when she is older. Just my 2 cents, but each family has their own dynamics that work for them. When I was 1-15 I needed a Mother, not a friend... Now that I'm in my mid 30's, I want a friend because I obviously can take care of myself.

It's strange the way each family works. I was a horror when I was 16, sneaking out, skipping school, ect. After I was told if I kept my GPA up and didn't miss school and could do whatver I damn well pleased (as far as coming and going, spending the night out) My grades shot up, I never missed school and my behavior did a 180..... no fun breaking rules if there aren't any. lol

Dammit, I was going to say that. :D Which means of course that it's the best suggestion.

Ha ha..I was going to suggest that or Joe's Crab Shack. Joe's has a fun menu, and if you tell your server that it's a special occasion, they'll have her do a silly dance with a hula skirt or something similar.

It's a shame that it's raining because BoyAlley's picnic suggestion would also be great.
