Canadians want to make an easy $100?

So I keep seeing these ads in the paper for a free ipod if I switch my bank account to TD Canada Trust. I'm already with TD so I call the 1800# and ask what they will do for me as an existing client, after all retention is just as important then aquiring a new client.

After going back and forth they agree to credit my account the value of the ipod, $100 for making a 5 minute call!

If you have your bank account with TD Canada trust call 1-866-389-5810 and make yourself $100!

ps You're welcome :winkwink:

It doesn't hurt to make a phone call, I doubt another bank will give you an ipod or cash, but try and let me know!

I will ( I am with TD )...

Jackass ??? do you think THEY would be shy to call you for money ....

Shaft_1971 07-20-2006 11:05 AM

Hey Kenny - I just got off the phone with TD and they cancelled my bank account because apparently they didn't like me threatening them about what would happen if I didn't get my $100 :(

KrisKross 07-20-2006 06:33 PM

Oh christ. You're one of those asshole who doesn't grasp the concept of promotions. If you bought a TV today and 5 years from now, the price dropped by 50%, would you go into the store demanding a credit?

Everytime a customer pulls this type of stupid shit on me, I call their bluff and close their accounts. Nine times out of ten, they call back to reopen them.

madawgz 07-20-2006 06:34 PM

i went to open a checking account with them....

i said i was moving from cibc to them...but i only had a savings account with the cibc so i didnt get the special deal...

Spunky 07-20-2006 06:35 PM

I'm with TD..I'll give it a shot

Old clients can get the free ipod as well , just need to read carefully the fine print with the info on their website and follow the instructions.

We are with TD for years now , and everyone in the house got a free ipod.

Kevsh 07-20-2006 08:03 PM

Not a big fan of milking promotions, esp. for a measly $100. If you see the big picture, you'd know what I mean.

But hey, if it makes you all feel like you did one over on "the man", congrats...

;)

Freakster 07-20-2006 08:21 PM

got the ipod nano, sold for $150... I was getting the account anyway for my mortgage so it's a free bonus.. bought myself some goodies I wanted with that money :)

minusonebit 07-20-2006 08:39 PM

Nice job. I hate banks and I am always happy to see people get something out of them for once.

Fucksakes 07-20-2006 08:55 PM

well thats cool, ill get my gf to try haha, she always wanted a ipod, nows her chance to get one for free

SmutGiant 07-20-2006 10:11 PM

they had the same promotion last year in august and i transferred my scotia checking over to td and i never got an ipod... called customer service, they told me to go to the branch, went to the branch next time i had to make a deposit and they told me to call customer service. neither had any record that i was supposed to get an ipod :(

I now have three accounts with them... gonna call them soon when i get a chance and see what i can do about getting a damn ipod or else i'll switch everything back to scotia.

SmutGiant 07-20-2006 10:15 PM

well i probably wont end up switching because i have better things to do but damn i would really like a free ipod shuffle :(
