Apple stock up 12%

Technology stocks dipped slightly overall on Thursday, though Apple Computer Inc.'s (AAPL) shares soared 12% in the wake of its quarterly results.

Apple shipped 798,000 notebooks in the period - a 61 percent jump in units as well as revenue. Ipod sales were also up.
