RoboForm for password management on PC..

any feedback? Any alternatives?

BobG 07-19-2006 05:38 PM

been using it for a long time. love it. would recommend it for sure.

Trixxxia 07-19-2006 05:39 PM

Been using it for ages too - print out a backup 'just in case' and keep a copy on disk that I update from time to time to make sure I have 2 backups in case something should screwup with my pc. I love it and it sure beats keeping things updated on Excel.

I have not tried anything better... there is a freeware program called KeePass that works pretty good as well but on a much more limited scale.

I've been using it for years and I love it. I highly recommend it.

Meorazhar 07-19-2006 09:13 PM

I love roboform, there's nothing near as good as it.

It is essential in my opinion. Make sure to fork over the money for the full version as it gives you more options. If you are worried about security, I'd also recommend only using it off of a thumb drive, preferably a biometric one.

check this one out

I totally agree..

Thanks for the kind words guys :) Couple quick notes:

1) For security and portability, Pass2Go is indeed a great add-on. It stores everything on your USB key.

2) If you want o back up your passcards (or any other directory for that matter), try GoodSync. True bi-directional synchronization that really works. And it's also made by us.

Remember, if you buy a license for any one of our products, you get automatic discounts for all the rest :winkwink:

I use roboform every day and it rocks :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

The problem with a memory saving feature is that eventually you don't have any memory to save.
What's in your head? Not your passwords, phone numbers, addresses... nothing.

Ever went to call someone and didn't have your cell phone with you? Would be handy to be able to remember that person's phone number.. wouldn't it?

What can roboform do that KeePass can't? Just curious.

RoboForm is not simply a place to put your passwords, it is a dynamic browser add-on that saves time and makes your life simpler.

Feature lists are available for both on the respective websites. It looks like you don't use either, so I invite you to try them both out and tell us what your opinion is :thumbsup

BannerDept 07-20-2006 10:13 AM

selena 07-20-2006 10:57 AM

The biggest advantage of KeePass is that it's free and open source so you can play around with it as much as you want to. Roboform makes it easier to fill in forms on the interweb, but KeePass can do it as well with a bit of playing around with it. I would suggest Roboform for ease of use, but KeePass if you want something free and secure (you can choose a password + a key file, from say a biometric thumb drive). On anything super secure, I store the key encoded on a biometric thumb drive + a 64 digit password.
