it's a pacu - not a big suprise - they get really big in aquariums and people throw them in lakes all the time - they get to be the size of a volkswagon in the amazon - they are the vegetarian version of a pirahna - they eat seeds that fall from a tree - that is why they have teeth like that - to break the seeds open - the seeds are the size of a golf ball

yep thats pretty nuts....

this happens all the time, all over the country. it just struck me as being a bit odd that it would be news anywhere... much less be reported without investigating and confirming what it is. i live in seattle and in greenlake in the middle of the city people are constantly catching pirahna's, aligators and anything else you can think of that some idiot thought would be funny to release into a lake.
