Power-outage tip .....
Tip .... keep an old rotary phone on one of your outlets ... the phone gets all the power it needs from the telephone line itself. There?s no additional power required to make or receive a call.

Even the old push buttons work here just fine when power goes down. Just not cordless or anything involving a power cord.
Good luck trying to find a rotatry without a fucking Mickey Mouse on it around here... |
any phones besides cordless phones can be used without power. their ring just isn't near as loud.

Thats a good point but like myself its cell or vonage. Here they charge too much for just basic service, so I switched vonage. I charge my cell once a day so I always have a full phone. Also in the summer the power goes out ,its off to a pet friendly hotel

how the fuck did you know the power was going out in my area today?!?!!?
|
You don't specifically need a rotary phone. Even phones with fancy LCD displays should be able to dial when the power is out (you just won't see anything)
