no power now for over 12 hours
 

This sucks assssssss. And the funny thing is that the block next to us has full power. All because afew trees fell last night.

Only thing keeping me sane is my blackberry till it runs out of juice too :(

crap 12 hrs? Ive been without power 30 mins or so and it felt shit already.

Do you have some kinda insurance for that? Cause here if its more then 5 hrs you get to claim lost income as a pro. Plus supermarkets can claim waisted food etc.

I was without power for 7 days last year after wilma hit

7 days in the south florida heat with no ac cold water ect ect

Not that I know of. And of course the workers have cleaned up most of the trees except for the main one causing most of the problems

But for us, we never get anything like that, and this was a 30 minute storm that raged through last night. I'm amazed at the power of it

growing up i lost power for over two weeks cuz of a few trees... took out the powerpolls and ofcourse it only affected like 10 houses so we were on the bottom of the list

I bought a generator last year. It's only been used 15 hours, but those 15 hours have been SO worth it.

Try living in Florida during huricane season.. :Oh crap

Why not stay in a hotel til it comes back ,that way you can take care business and be comfortable.

Tip .... keep an old rotary phone on one of your outlets ... the phone gets all the power it needs from the telephone line itself. There?s no additional power required to make or receive a call.

You can recharge the blackberry in the car. And L-Pink is right, and old fashioned corded phone (doesn't even need to be rotary) is required in all homes :)

Have Juicy come over, he's got enough juice to keep a blackberry running I'm sure:winkwink:

Yeah, can you believe it took up to 6 weeks for some people to get back electricity, water and phone? (I think that was the hottest week in FL too). I got lucky and we were among the first few neighborhoods fixed. :helpme

One thing you have to say about Long Island, once the power goes off, it takes forever for LIPA to get off their ass to fix it.
