The evening Loryn update!
 

Just called and got the latest info. Loryn's bone-graft surgery went very well, and she's now resting in her room with her new friend "Mr. Demerol-Drip".

I'll post more details as I hear them. :)

With the demerol-drip I just wish we had a hidden microphone in her room. :1orglaugh

Tell her to get well soon...

HAH, I won't EVER go into politics with Loryn, she almost smacked my head against the bar in vegas to use as a rag to clean up the spilled drinks...

YES. :Oh crap

At first the doctors were thinking that they could do the surgery using a piece of sythetic bone on her heel. After she went through all the preliminaries and checks, they decided that they needed to take a bone graft from her hip for the best chance to properly get her foot all healed up. The heel and foot injuries are from a motorcycle accident that happened quite a while ago, this is the third time they've had to operate to mend things. This is something she's had to live with for a number of years now, and with more than her fair share of pain.

That's what really sucks. :( I hope that this is the LAST time and operation she has to go through. And I hope that after all of this is said and done she doesn't have to be in constant pain and hobbling around on crutches every few months. This time she not only has to live with the foot pain, now she has to heal up from having surgery to take a chunk of bone from her hip as well. :sadcrying

I'm not sure of the exact schedule, but I think she's probably going to be in the hospital through Friday, and be back home this weekend if everything goes well. There probably is time to send her some nice flowers at the hospital, and if anyone needs the hospital addy feel free to hit me up by email or icq (in my sig file).

And of course, get well emails are strongly encouraged too. Those well wishes can be sent to....

She is a very special lady and I hope she comes out of this with as little discomfort as possibe.

Glad to hear she's doing well! I had a bone graft about 15 years ago. Not fun but when you need it, you need it - and it works :)

The GFY Server Gerbils and Loryn's children Ralph & Calvin did send her a nice floral arrangement to brighten her hospital stay.

Loryn is one tough girl, I have no doubt she'll bounce back from this.

I can't imagine Loryn with a Demerol drip totally within her control! Wow what that must sound like!! She and I have had some heated political discussions while sober, I can't imagine talking to her now!

Here's an idea... maybe if she would actually follow doctors orders and stay off her foot after surgery, she might actually heal right and won't have to keep going through these surgeries every few months. Sometimes painkillers are not your friend...
