? about type in domains
 

If a certain short combination of words is searched roughly 10,000 times a month in the Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool and a domain with those exact words was available would it be worth it to buy the domain? Also if a domain was available but it included the word christian because it would be christians searching for it would you buy it or could it just turn into a big headache for me?

Worth buying ? Yes. Obviously, people are looking for it so you have a good shot at some type-in and SE traffic.

Christians ? What are those ?

A few warnings about overture stats:

1. They combine singulars and plurals as well as spelling errors.

And many many others are all combined into one stats listing, which shows as Free Girl Picture

2. Some Goto affiliates preload terms into search boxes or use them as text links, so you end up with a term that looks great, but it really gets no searches at all. If I am a Goto affiliate, and I preload the term "Go Fuck Yourself" into my search box, then people click on it 10,000 times in one month because they are stupid, then you will think that 10,000 people search for that term. In reality, all 10,000 of those were non searches. This is a lot more rare today than it was a few years ago, but it does still happen.

3. If the term is more than three words, or three really long words, or a strange, never used, phrase, then the chances of it getting any type ins are reduced greatly.

Thanks for the responses guys. I think I will pick up the domain that is searched 10,000 times; it is the correct spelling and its short and if I was searching for it on google thats what I would type in. As for the one involving christians I'm going to think about it somemore. I don't know if it's worth the hassle or not although it could end up being worth alot of money down the road; I have actually read about it in the paper here twice, I'm just not sure If it would bring out the nuts if I tried to peddle porn on the domain.

Send the Christian traffic to a casino instead. Church people love bingo, right? :)
