Opening a local directory in a frame of a webpage

You guys might be able to help me out here.

I want to open a local directory into a frame of a webpage - This page isn't being made to put up on the web - I only use it 'locally'.

I use a number of different editors, and after looking all through them for a way to do this, I came up with nothing. It seems that it would be a simple thing to do, but I can't seem to find a way to do it.

Am I gonna have to use an iFrame, javascript, dhtml, or even a script? - Or is there a easier way to do this that I overlooked?

All I can do is open a whole folder as a webpage... don't know if that helps. Then you can click on any htm and it opens.
Thanks I really didn't know I could do that..
