What do you look for in a content company....
 

Hey all you happy porn peddlers. I have a very important question for you. What is it you want or look for in a content provider in terms of features/benefits? Also, what yanks your cranks promotion wise? Do you like cash? Do you like free content such as xxx amount of BW free? Do you like gifts such as an Ipod, or laptop computer? What is it that you like to get from a company who appreciates your business? Throw me out some ideas and I will work to get something kickass implemented just for YOU!

I am sure someone has some idea's as to what would motivate you to purchase someone's content.

This is a perfect opportunity to get what you want.

I would say quality content, the product is first, incentives are cool too. But quality is probably first.

I am also not sure what you mean. Do you want to give these incentives to affiliates or the person purchasing the content?

Not sure but the way I read it is you want to sell content on a content store and have affiliates push potential buyers and they get the incentives?.. Maybe that's just my way of thinking as soon as I see topBucks.. lol

Trailers would be good

First we are trying to bring in new clients with offers and special deals. What we are looking for is what adult site owners want from us for them to use our product. We currently offer a free week, which is use to test how much bandwidth their member might use. We have several features to help clients save money, But there is something more that folks want and we don't know what that is.

I think everyone likes different stuff depending on their situation.

LionDollars take our top webmasters to Amsterdam for New Years ever year, others give rewards.

Personally, the unexpected FedEx suprise does it for me.

I've been in the industry for less than a year, so I'm still feeling my way through it. I haven't even made a GFY profile yet!

I will say, though, that I personally prefer cash awards for customer loyalty, and not to be too specific, but I loooove Plug-In Feeds. A great product is key for me, and it comes down to really feeling *proud* to use someone's product -- like your feeds. They make up some of our best bonus feeds and are *killer* for member retention.

Again, I'll be able to offer more to conversations like this in the future, but for what it's worth, there's my $.02!!! :-)

Where it's kind of odd is Lady Bastette and I don't buy content. Our personal site, Black And Blue USA is more about how to do and find BDSM, not watch it (geeze, if I want to watch people get whipped and fuck, I'll go to the local dungeon). For those who like to watch online, we're signed up with affiliates. Our favorites include Blue Blood and Gwen Media. Mikey and Mandy are also friends of ours.

For our day job, Black And Blue Media, the clients we represent shoot for retail video.

What we have noticed overall is the lack of creativity and art in smut. I'm still 10 times more likely to get a hard on from a good drawing or photo than from video of someone getting a BJ in an appartment. My favorites are Michael Manning, Michael Rosen, Mark I. Chester, and Julian Murphy. I always keep a copy of Skin Two or Marquis near the bed.

It doesn't matter if it's a toaster oven or an Ipod, you offer with the sale. If the quality is like a Yugo, it's harder to sell.

Yup probably directing the question to your existing clientele via a poll or survey or requesting feedback via your monthly newsletter may get you some good suggestions as well.

What I'm looking for is for them to give me the lowest price as possible for the content i want and to keep lowering their price.

Thanks for the feedback Syl. We just thougth putting it out here on the forum would get us a more broad idea of what really turns people on to a content company.

Delivering the best user experience is for me the number one gift any company can give me. Ease of access, selection and payment, for quality content.

I believe that gifts, even though always very much appreciated, especially by the big spenders who like nice treats (we all do), are a thing of the past.

Organizing gatherings for customers only is a great solution as, while you entertain, you can promote your company and products. Satisfied customers are your number one advertisers.

Discount programs for customized package deals are also a great incentive.

Today, in a more competitive environment, I would rather spend less money and time, than spend more money to get a gift.

I really like pluginfeeds - a great product combined with fantastic service that makes the whole experience rather pleasing :)

I like the approach a few hosting companies do... fly long term clients out to the datacenter, check it out for a few days...meet people and stuff.

Just like a your girlfriend/wife gets off on unexpected surprises - business clients do too ... something unplanned, new, cool and totally unexpected does it :)

when I look at content I want to see the model and how many sets she has. If its not organized by model name then I move on.

These are all very good idea's. We truely appreciate your feed back. We are always looking for ways of improving our products, support and realtionships with our clients.

Please stop back by if any of you get any more idea's. I think that this thread not only helps us understand our clientele, but help other companies in the industry understand their clientele as well.

We started using PIF in march 06. The only thing we want is to be able to use pluginfeeds content for promotional purposes. This way we can attract more customers to look at your member areas. The trailers that are offered are not good enough in our opinion. If a Topbucks webmaster can use any promotional content they want, why can't paying (PIF) customers to do the same? It's the same content.

When I buy content I'm looking for one thing only.

CONTENT THAT WILL BRING IN SIGN UPS AND KEEPS THEM REBILLING.

It really is that simple.

I'm not worried about price, cheap means everyone and his brother might have it or it's crap or even both.

I do want new content on a regular basis, being a content provider has taught me that it's 3 months before sets get really selling. 3 months when we are one of the few sites to have it for our members.

I'M ALSO LOOKING AT THE QUALITY OF THE PORN. LOTS OF PEOPLE CAN POINT A CAMERA AT A NAKED GIRL, FEW CAN GET HER TO LOOK HOT.

That's about it.

Not looking for feeds. With the price of hosting I can afford to buy and most feeds are crap DVD porn anyway.

Yes we buy a lot of stuff for the paysite, the key to success is to keep members, not get traffic.
