Is this guy allowed to do it? Business thread ( adsense etc )

www.xxxx.com

clearly an adult domain, but the owner made a simple site about Forex trading and serves Forex relevant adsense ads.

Is that allowed? I just asked a friend for an opinion and he said I can even make a mortgage site under hornygirls.com and Google won't care about it, cause they don't look at the domainat all...

Somehow I very doubt it's the truth......

ready lube 07-18-2006 10:04 AM

How do you see it as "clearly an adult domain"? I don't.

It's just another domain for trading, such as "www.fxuniversal.com", one could get them confused with an effects company but it's not.

he can do w/e the hell he wants with the domain. just cause it's adult or non adult doesnt mean your tied down to something.

Cory W 07-18-2006 10:06 AM

I don't get it, what is wrong with it?

There is no adult content so they can serve the ads...

How do you know how many hits it is getting?

What are you talking about "fake"? How long did you look at the site anyway?

no, I wasn't referring to xxxx.com now, I just know adsense allows far simpler pages too

but the question still remains

hmm... after reading this thread, i am beginning to believe you really are a polish aristocrat.

scottybuzz 07-18-2006 10:29 AM

haahahahaha polish aristocrat lol

triumph 07-18-2006 10:34 AM

That is a very nice domain name. Obviously the traffic is from mis-type traffic for people searching for xxx.

But I think he can do it because the content on the site is not adult related. And his domain name does not really imply xxx (:winkwink:).

2 moronic responses in 1 thread. Congratulations.

Of course the site gets hundreds of hits. It is in the Alexa top 150k...sure Alexa isn't the greatest to judge site traffic by...but at least we know at least a couple of thousand of Alexa toolbar users have found their way to the site.

As far as the "fake" thing...you're a moron.

candyflip 07-18-2006 10:40 AM

Forex = 4X = XXXX

I don't see a problem with it.

Google probably looks at the incoming links, rather then actual words in the domain. So if suckitbitch.com was a fresh domain with no incoming adult links, you could put any content you want on it...

Google should cut his adsense immediately as we all know that beer leads to sex and sex is bad. :2 cents:
