There were several million people living in TransJordan and Palestine around 1947. About 93% were Arabs of which over 90% had been born there. The rest were an odd mishmash of Turks, Xians, and a few Jews.

I'm rather neutral on the whole issue, but it was Britain who stole their land and not jews. Jews just settled there after whining to the powers that be, but Britain was the one who stole it originally.

Then they bag on Isreal for defending itself and "stealing land" 50 fuckin years ago. I'm always curious why these people aren't turning over their home to the Native Americans. Hell, white man raped and slaughtered the Natives out of existence. Most of us would still be living in Europe.

Suggestion: read some history. Palestine was created as a British mandate after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire at the end of the first world war. Unlike the other mandates, Palestine did not become an independent state because the British government had stated its desire to create a homeland for the Jews.

Large-scale immigration, primarily from Russia and Eastern Europe began in the 1920's and increased during the 1930's during Hitler's rise to power. It had created enough pressure to result in violence on both sides, even before WW2 began.

Post-war Zionism certainly made matters worse, but was not the starting point. And if you want to assign blame for what developed there, don't leave the British (or later the US) out of the equation.

History books for you too I'm afraid. A fund was established in 1901 to buy Palestinian land for Jewish settlers. AFAIK no arab land was forcibly occupied until the 1948 war.

taking land was what we were good at. most native people loved us for taking their land and adored us even more for giving it to another group after we were done with it. some people just don't appreciate our hard work.

The Jews were there before the Roman Empire started kicking them out... so in my book they have as much right to be in that area as any other... particularly the musilms that came along with the Byzantine Empire

Personally as a non jew I find it amusing that the Arabs kept on invading Israel and got their arses kicked repeatedly and have been whining about it ever since. In short 90% of the fucking problems the Arab world seems to have with Israel are self inflicted.

Just to be clear, as I have commented before, I have supported the Palestinians for many years. I was writing newspaper articles to that end, more than 30 years ago. The reason I'm responding to your posts is because it doesn't advance any cause to have arguments made which are full of basic errors and therefore easily pulled apart. Nor are what, I suspect may be racially motivated comments, likely to do anything except alienate people.

Still wondering why a thread entitled 'Facts about "Israel" before the Jews moved in.' would include TransJordan in the stats when non of TransJordan became part of Israel and none of it is in dispute.
