    Beware of StarPosition

6/20/06 agreed to a one-year membership with StarPosition for one very high-traffic search term based on their claim of 20 million members. Star Position charged us $699 for this search term and our page showed up on their demo. After nearly a full month, I can count total visitors on one hand, the bulk of which were our own people testing the link.

StarPosition is a scam! Do not waste your money on this bullshit. Do not sign up for Star Position unless you like throwing away your advertising dollars.

    You have been warned.

I'm sorry for your loss, but all due respect - this dont compute.
You check the webpage, you check the amount they ask for their service, and you pay them

.. AND you call yourself a webmaster?

        Money back gaurantee:
For any phrase you register with Star Position, if you receive no traffic within thirty calendar days, per the tracking report mentioned above, apart from the test hits which are generated by Star Position, you will receive a FULL REFUND for the phrase which gets no traffic. Apart from this, there are no refunds as it is your responsibility to follow up with any prospective customers who contact you.

        Did you get traffic?

Look at the good damm site. Does it look like a legit business?
And because it say "Money back guarantee:" you believe it?

Yeah about the money-back guarantee, I should have mentioned that I emailed three people there requesting refund, got read receipts back from two, but none of them actually responded to my email. This email was sent 7/10 to Robert Sexton, Kathleen & Ashim:

                  Hi,

I have received zero page views in the last 10 days and a total of 7 in the nearly 3 weeks this account has been active. As you will not switch my search term, please kindly provide me with a full refund.

                  Best regards,

                  Fastfun,

Regarding the site, I agree that it's not the prettiest. But honestly if you base legitimacy on how pretty a site is, I can have a guy in Manila throw together a design for about $100 that looks better than most 'professional' sites out there. Hell look at thehun, it's one of the highest traffic sites out there and has zero design elements outside of the logo (no disrespect).

We happen to have the budget to experiment with various traffic sources and figured we'd try these guys out. Unfortunately we got burned and I'm just looking out so that hopefully others with tighter budget restraints won't make the same mistake.

                  Just lookin out bro...
