How much would an apartment like this rent for in Socal?

This was my first apartment when I lived in Chicago and it was a tiny 1 bedroom but I loved it
http://bj9.com/chicago/chicago.htm

anyways what would something like that go for in San Diego?

wdsguy 07-17-2006 03:23 PM

Atleast 1 grand in la jolla, maybe alittle cheaper.

munki 07-17-2006 03:23 PM

900+ depending on exact neighborhood...

I know that in OC your looking around 1100 at least.

Deej 07-17-2006 03:23 PM

is that link right?

Halcyon 07-17-2006 03:24 PM

I'm guessing 800. (just a guess based on some friends' places)

Sly 07-17-2006 03:26 PM

San Diego area, probably minimum $900, then depends on the area. Its kind of funny how you can get a decent 2 bedroom place for just a couple hundred more.

Five years ago I had a 3 bedroom for $1200, damn I wish those still existed.

Tdog 07-17-2006 03:26 PM

That place looks very small, you can get more space in San Diego for the money.

Sosa 07-17-2006 03:26 PM

damn that is small as fuck :) how is rent in chicago?

avalanche 07-17-2006 03:29 PM

Pretty small place, but in OC you'd be looking atleast about $1000 minimum depending on neighborhood. HB, Irvine....about 1400.....

MaddCaz 07-17-2006 03:36 PM

Rent in Chi is a lot, but clearly not fucking with SoCal

rants 07-17-2006 03:40 PM

I pay $1320 for a small 1 bedroom similar to what you posted above in Orange County. That includes the extra fee for an additional parking spot, plus it's $100 more than usual cause my lease expired and I don't want to renew it. I'm going month to month in case I wanna move. I plan on moving sometime in the future.

My kitchen is bigger than yours though, the one in the pic looks super cramped.

that was 2 years ago in Chigago, that was $800. I thought it was cheap but no one rented it because it was too high.
I'm from Boston and that place would rent for $1,300 in boston lol.

Lycanthrope 07-17-2006 03:45 PM

Between $150 - $200 dollars in Northern Wisconsin. Heat included.

I think San Diego. I like an urban feel where I can walk everywhere

pornguy 07-17-2006 03:46 PM

Cross the border a few miles, and rent a HOUSE for 500$ a month

erehwon 07-17-2006 04:44 PM

The way the San Diego real estate market is depressed, you might be able to surf around empty houses for sale on the way cheap as some owners are renting furniture just to make houses look lived in.

But San Diego apartment wise, figure about $1000. :thumbsup

It can be as much as $2300 in Irvine.

Doctor Dre 07-17-2006 04:52 PM

I can't see why anybody would want to live in an appartement with noisy neighboors... unless you're downtown or really close to the action.

mr.hyde 07-17-2006 04:54 PM

North Park San DIego, we had a one bedroom with off street parking and a garage for $750 a month. The neighborhood has so many prostitutes that I was lucky enough to see a girl walking down the street with a sheet of paper taped to her back that read "I am not a hooker!"

Alex 07-17-2006 05:39 PM

Here in Northridge you can get that for $850 or so. Mainly cause we are in a University town.

Apartment living sucks.

I'd rather live with family before I'd do that again.
