Seen Pirates of the... yesterday.

So yea. It wasn?t really worth seeing at all. I should have rather gone to see Superman.

crockett 07-17-2006 07:14 AM

I saw it lastnight. I thought it was pretty good, but didn't care for the ending.

JamesK 07-17-2006 07:16 AM

I saw 50% of it last night, it sure was very interesting.

CamsLord 07-17-2006 07:17 AM

superman is not any better :2 cents:

drjones 07-17-2006 07:19 AM

Yea, Pirates 2 didnt do much for me at all. The whole plot revolved around setting up rediculous scenarios to lead up to a jack sparrow catch phrase. Over and over again.

notabook 07-17-2006 07:20 AM

It wasn't as good as the first one that's for sure, they had way too many tidbits from the first one included in it to make it seem like one long fucking running gag. I know it was always planned to have three movies? but watching part two just seemed like a pale comparison to part one. I loved the Kraken, some of the best CG in any movie I?ve ever seen, but they could have made that movie great instead of mediocre.

mOrrI 07-17-2006 07:21 AM

Well i want to see both :D

The Demon 07-17-2006 07:23 AM

Weird, I thought it was one of the best action/adventure movies ever made, and definitely better than part 1, setting up a climatic Lord of the Rings type ending for part 3. Apparently $252 million says America agreed with me.

Ivana Fukalot 07-17-2006 07:50 AM

Part2 is not very good, but J. Depp is so pretty ... :)

fantabulous 07-17-2006 08:00 AM

seond seemed to be boring :Oh crap

Raven 07-17-2006 08:02 AM

We saw Superman on Saturday. I wanted to stab myself in the eye and we walked out.

We saw Pirates yesterday and can't stop talking about it. It's every bit as good as the first one....loved it...

LittleSassy 07-17-2006 08:12 AM

Well, it wasnt exactly as good as I thought. The ending pretty much sucks...hehehe

MrJackMeHoff 07-17-2006 09:10 AM

You Me, and Dupre was awesome.

Wiggles 07-17-2006 09:22 AM

everyone says the ending blows, that kinda puts me off seeing it in theatre.

It's not that it blows so much as they leave wide freakin open for part 3. I think it would have been better if they would have left you wondering. The movie was full of action and good 3d animation.

Naughty Justice 07-17-2006 01:07 PM

How was the story? Action and CG are great and all but if that's all it has it's not worth it. The first movie had a pretty cool and funny storyline that's what made me like it. The action in the first was so so but it was still one of my favorite movies that year. And damn how'd it make so much...poor Superman. They're prolly going to scrap making anymore superman movies for another 20 years.

JD 07-17-2006 01:41 PM

then end is like there was another 2 hours to the movie and they just said "fuck it! Cut it there and roll the credits."

TOTAL setup for #3

blackfeet 07-17-2006 01:46 PM

went to the drive in with wife and kids.
i was bored and couldn't wait to get home.

Vendzilla 07-17-2006 02:05 PM

Loved what they did with Davy Jones face!

hollinator 07-17-2006 02:20 PM

I loved it and laughed through quite a bit of it. I thought it was every bit as good as the first and yeah, the kraken CG effects were amazing! I think in a movie like this where there are such wide differing oppinions you just have to see for yourself. The ending didn't bother me at all - typical cliff hanger type thing... And I agree - Johnny is yummy...

Slick 07-17-2006 02:39 PM

Yeah, I agree, the first one was a lot better. It seemed to have a lot more to it. The second one seemed a little on the boring side with nothing memorable. It was still a decent flick though, worth seeing if you liked the first one.

I liked the very end when they showed the new captain, that was kick ass. DON'T SPOIL IT AND SAY (for those that didn't see it yet).

Slick 07-17-2006 02:40 PM

The third one should be interesting with Keith Richards (from the Rolling Stones) as Jack Sparrow's father.

They're not leaving it open for a 3rd. They're setting up the 3rd, which has already been filmed. Think of 2 and 3 like the Kill Bill movies...as one big movie.

reynold 07-17-2006 07:11 PM

Not bad but the first one was better.

E$_manager 07-17-2006 08:46 PM

people say it is too long.

Validus 07-17-2006 08:49 PM

The movie is awesome from a technical side, it is just like pirates 1 with a really messed up story lines!

UtahSaints 07-17-2006 08:49 PM

P2 is gay.. the way it ends.. daaaamn.. I wasted $80 on that fucking movie...
