Someone just brought this up about Internext Florida

LOL...pretty funny

Quote:

real fast math, 8 hours a day the convention is open... you sleep untill atleast 12 due to over drinkin/what ever your passion.. make lunch, roll into the convention from 1-3 at best.. you are out... you do that at best 3 times during the show, resulting in say.. 9 hours of floor time.. so you are paying 33.33 bucks an hour

BrettJ 07-17-2006 12:45 AM

or you don't go to the show floor at all (haven't for the past two years, 4 shows) ... and pay $350/0 (I think that results in an unreal number) ...

Jace, quick question. What happened to your nick "Jace"? Why start a new nick? Maybe just have the old one changed but keep the post count? I'm just curious

you can't get into the hotel without a badge, and a badge costs $300

szango420 07-17-2006 12:57 AM

does the $300 include a room? $600 if i bring a model, plus flights, food, etc.. ouch. i want to go..

flashfreak 07-17-2006 01:07 AM

yeah but those 9 hours @ $350 can boost your biz if you're networking with the right people ;)

yeah, but in all seriousness, those people can be found on most of the boards and various other places online, while the face to face thing is nice, there is no way in hell you can justify spending almost $3000 for 2.5 days to me

you're right - it's not worth it. I didn't know the total bling-bling.

the prague trip was 2000 euro for 2 persons (me and wife) - 6 days @ 3* hotel

You and the model can share a room at the lowest rate, fly southwest, and the rest you kinda just have to deal with hehe. Or if you reaaally want to save, make friends and you and the model crash in their rooms and split the bills. There's always ways around spending too much money. Although I agree sure does sound expensive.

I believe it was 4 years ago at an Internext convention when a face to face meeting resulted in a contract that eventually paid me a grand total of over $250,000. While that contract is no longer in effect (damn, I wish it was) I would say it was worth the money spent to attend.

That's exactly what I was going to say. I haven't spent any real time on the show floor in years, lol.

For someone who tries to come off as a smart businessman, you'd think you'd be smart enough to not throw away your old name and branding.

Haha exactly! :thumbsup It's always what you make of it. I've paid the trip off at the airport by baggage claim running into the right people.. more than once. You never know what will happen or who you could stumble across in an elevator or in a cab that can change things for you forever.

That's probably why the Florida convention is forcing the badge policy at the door, too many people were going and not attending the actual show, lol.

Who the fuck sleeps for 12 hours drinking or no drinking? Geezus!
Control yourself and you will make a profit.

Or an informal meeting on a couch while waiting to check into your room, lol.

I'm thinking we get YOU a bikini and save on model costs, too!

Cyndalie 07-17-2006 03:50 PM

ok ok I read that wrong, either way, my point stands. Control yourself at any event and you will make the most of it. Your attitude and behavior results in the profit potential of any event you attend.

Don't blame you. Winter Internext in Vegas will likely be a ghost town again.
