    Question for the SEO Wizz Kids

    My current host blows nuts, and I want to switch hosts. I've got top rankings with the site hosted with them and I'm worried that if I change IP's google will drop my shit.

    Has anyone noticed if google penalizes for changing IP's? I'd like tokeep my rankings

      Shouldn't hurt you to bad unless...

      a. You move from a previously clean dedicated ip, to a known spam shared ip
      b. an ip recently being used by someone banned by the SEs.

      If your moving from a shared to a clean dedicated, you could even see a boost.

              I'm happy with the design so that won't be changing any time soon. But the host.....been down for going on 11 hours now...

                                                                      This shouldnt be a problem as google operated using Domain names rather than IP's, as mentioned above you will ONLY have problems if you put your site on a IP which is considered a bad neighbour hood.

                                                                      Dont change your design if you have a design google likes keep it!
