Funky as in cool to go to I hope

Check out this hot spot http://www.calleochonyc.com/
Very nice place with Latin Jazz tunes in the back ground and a great atmosphere. I bit pricey, but the cuisine is incredibley good and worth it :-) Make sure you order a "macho mojito" when you get there.

Another hot cuban joint to hit is on w46th street between 7th and 8th, you can't miss it.

STAY AWAY from Ipanema (13w46st), Looks like a nice place to eat, but I know better ;)

OH MAN i got a good 1 for you...about 18months ago i ate at this place downtown, its in SOHO i believe...its like eating in a cave. Like Howe Caverns. You go down underground and its like the inside of a cave. I am blanking on the name right now and i was in ecuador the last 6 months so i never went back. I am on my way to the beach right now so maybe later i will google it for you....or u can search it...its so worth it if u r bringing a date...she will be blown away...food was good too ; )

Looks nice, but this time I'll just be eating with friends, no romantic dinner ;-)

If you're looking for funky, try Lucky Cheng's on 1st Ave. in the 20's. Cross dressing waiters, good food and an overall fun time.
