Driving back from Vegas I decided to top off outside Barstow as I needed to stretch and wake up anyway.

Gas station was packed, so I pulled behind this Chevy pickup, and went inside the store to enjoy the A/C, take a leak, grab some water, figuring that by the time I returned they would be done, and I could move into the spot to fuel my car.

When I return, the truck is in the same spot, 2 people sitting in it, the driver on the cell phone. The gas cap if off, but they are not putting gas in. I decide to see what's up.

Me: Are you going to be here much longer?

Her: I just filled up my tank with diesel. I have to wait for someone to come siphon it all out of the tank before I can start the engine!!

That would be hard to do as the nozzle for diesel is larger than for unleaded gas to the best of my knowledge and wouldn't fit? Or was that between leaded and unleaded??

you know what would end the story even better...if after the siphoning ..turns out she actually has a diesel lol

They used to be different for leaded/unleaded . . . . as I drove away I thought that they really should make the nozzles different sizes . . . I guess the green pump and handle isn't enough for some people.

Got a point - just spent a quick few minutes on google without an answer. I'd bet they're different. If they aren't, I agree they should be. Seems logical for diesel to be larger as trucks have bigger tanks.

I'll just look next trip to the local truck stop. I was thinking maybe she had to really work at making this dumb move....

wtf, don't they seperate diesel from gas anyways? every gas station i goto diesel is like on the othre side, or behind the store, and gas is in the front... fucking idiot.. was she blonde?

I used to work at an auto parts store, and I got a call one day from a woman who was asking if I might know why her car wouldn't start and was leaking a lot of oil. I asked her if she had done anything recently and she told me her oil was low so she filled it up.

She had filled it up to the top...:thumbsup

The nozzles are different sizes anytime i've pumped diesel.

One time I was pumping gas on my cell phone, not paying attention.. and almost put diesel in.
