Earlier today, I had a knock on my front door and it was pastor and his wifey trying to recruit new members for their church, I told them to leave and they left with out more than a "have a nice day" (unlike mormans...:Oh crap )

When I glanced out the window after returning to my desk, I noticed that they were driving a brand new Mercedes (still had paper plates).... I don't know about you, but men of god (priests,pastors,etc) shouldn't be driving badass cars and live in killer houses all paid for by their church.

Hmmmm I am not sure about this. There are many very spiritual people that are very wealthy. Many attribute their wealth to their faith. Not because they pimped and gimped others into making them money ala Jimmy Swaggart/Jim Bakker televangelists but because they use their faith as a motivational base from which to excel in business.

On a related note-- There are many views on the proper balance between faith and material wellbeing--from the view that faith should cancel out material trappings (see the Medieval monks and their vows of poverty along with Buddhist monks and their ritual begging) all the way to the "Gospel of Wealth" and Jabez movements in Christianity. There's many schools of thought on this.

Just make sure you start a Pentecostal church, that way you get to distribute the funds as you see fit. 'let's see... the new church toilet cost $12,000, a new podium costs... hmm... $50,000. That should cover my new car.'

very good points, but you have to agree that there are MANY more that use "god" as a way to drum up money from the believers. I've seen it a few times myself from churches that friends and relatives have attended that the pastor was busted for various money related crimes.

it's easy for them to afford that shit since they rip people off with bullshit and pay no taxes. Religion is a fucking scam. When they say that they need money to help others they mean help themselves to get expensive houses, cars etc.. Funny how they go against their own religion.. GREED = SIN yet they want all the money that they can get so they can get all this fancy shit. I will never respect any religion. IF there was a good I'm sure that he would strike each religious person with a lightning bolt and kill them for doing all of this stupid shit in his name. I sure know that if I was "god" I would make sure those scamming greedy fucks would suffer.

yet, religious idiots say "money is the root of all evil", but they want as much of it as they can get their dirty greedy hands on while lying to everyone in order to get this money to buy all these fancy things.. Fucking hypocrites.
