How does it hijack traffic? It does not do anything with anyones traffic at all.. Since when is an ad on a page hijacking,, would you accuse a free host that places ads on pages of hijacking traffic?

As far as making money.. only if surfer clicks ad & pays for something,

I wasn't accusing you of hijacking traffic, I figured it just redirects to the url like tinyurl.com does, so it wasn't obvious how money is being made from a site like that....

it does redirect like tinyurl does,,, but it has an ad at top... no traffic hijacking,, except for the 404's that would be generated if I catch people cheating or spamming

tinyurl makes ebay links into ebay affiliate ref links..... this is one way..

For example;
You have a link that looks like
hostdomain.com/accountname/directoryname/filename01.html

You get yourself something like QP16.com/porn & now you won't have such a long link :) ,,

Or use it in your opt in email marketing campains, (No Spam Allowed!!) or use it for SEO.. you can edit your keyword & description meta for your url in the admin..
why does anyone use such a service? I ended up making this because I saw a thread somebody looking for such a service, so I built one.., :thumbsup

Exactly. Not to mention it's easy enough to code up your own version of this for personal use -- with tracking and other bells and whistles.

Not knocking ya spacedog, but there's just too many alternatives to this.

Seems to me sites like tinyurl and snipurl don't need registration and don't put ads. Why would someone use this over something that doesn't put ads and require registration?
