They are the same indeed (unless I really am...)

Netbilling (www.netbilling.com) is great for merchant account solutions

CCBill (www.ccbill.com) is an awesome 3rd party payment processor

Paycom (www.paycom.net) can offer both, 3rd party processing and merchant account soltuons.

hope that helps a little!

will76 07-14-2006 08:03 PM

hell i don't know all this shit is new to me.

Back when i did membership sites there was ibill and that was it.. Things have sure advanced since then.

Ok, so say i want to set up a site with ccbill using nats. Who should i also signup with for cascade billing ?

thanks for your reply. I have been out of the loop for a couple years.

Another question while you guys are gracious enough to reply with good info.

Pros and Cons of using 3rd party processing vs my own merchant account.
Besides that I don't have to cut checks and i believe most people trust you more if the check is coming from say ccbill, less chance of shave ?

I know ccbill charges a higher % then if you have your own account.

So which way would you go if you could do either.

Well, I would say it is more difficult to get your own merchant account as compared to a 3rd party solution. I would also say that the % and pricing is higher for a 3rd party solution as compared to a merchant account. I guess it really depends. Most merchant account also require a min. volume and maybe a setup fee which can be decently high.

Wil, if you're going to cascade billers, you're likely going to use MPA or Nats to do it, correct? I think you'll need to cut your own checks to cascade billers properly. Otherwise, you'll have to have affiliates sign up to both systems, and somehow track both affiliate codes, one for the primary billing option and then another in case it doesn't pass and is cascaded down? Make sense?

Degenerate 07-14-2006 08:19 PM

lol... yeah same company :)

Not true.
We cascade with CCBill and Paycom and have them send the payments as well. We don't use Nats or Mpa, we have written our own custom affiliate script.
We are the only ones doing this that I have noticed so far.

I considered having something like that coded up for me but went with Nats instead and haven't looked back.

been there done that :Oh crap

Every 3rd party processor i have used so far i have been burned, first it was dmr / web800 and then ibill.... each time the burn has gotten worse.

I hope ccbill is fucking stable. tired of losing money because of other people's lack of management.

BIGTYMER 07-14-2006 10:49 PM

WebSiteBilling is good! ;)

We developed ours before NATS was around and haven't looked back either.
I do plan to use NATS on a new project though.
I hope it will be capable of 3rd party payouts with cascading for revshare.

Why would you want to cut your own checks if you didn't have to?

corvette 07-15-2006 11:07 AM

p1mpdogg 07-15-2006 12:48 PM

get your own acct. all 3rd party places make it extremely easy to cancel and get a credit or refunded.

im all for customer service, but when you are paying a company 12+% to handle your shit, i expect them to be on my side not the consumers side.

offering up refunds just bcuase its the easiest way out is complete bullshit imo.

You were the only one so far:-) We also developed our own script and within few days it will be up and running. Cascade billing of 3 processors (ccbill, paycom and verotel). I think it is better to have our system you can adjust for your needs and let ccbill and paycom to take care of checks cause they are very reliable...
