That's the operator calling you. Operator from the matrix, Tank to be exact.

yeah I got a call yesterday from 000-001-2345, wtf

They are selling shit these days now where you call a service and it relays your call with whatever number you want showing up on someones call display.. I have heard about it, have not seen it though.

i received a call from a 10 digit long number before(minus the area code)

i get that shit all the time.

these prepaid calling cards i can get here, you enter the number you are calling from, its pretty cool

voip .. get www.skype.com and you can make phone calls for free ( in north america ) and have your number masked the same way

You can pretty much fake any # with VOIP if you know what you're doing ;)
